Knox will not be here under his current cap hit. He will either likely have to take a pay cut or be gone. Samuel likely won't be here either.

Yes, next off season should be defense heavy. If you have seen them play you know why.

Luckily, on offense, we really just need to restock the WR room. Beane is going to have to find a trade because the FA WR class is terrible.

Do you really think Beane wont over pay for some mid FA WR, its his MO.

I'd like to see all of those scrubs walk, with the exception of Bosa. Having said that, I wouldn't pay too much for Bosa. Hopefully it's a weak market for him.

I wouldn't keep any of those defensive guys. I think Samuel will be cut. Knox will either be cut or take a massive paycut to stay with his buddy Josh. The actual tougher decisions are on the oline. At the start of the season I'd have said you have to keep McGovern but he has had a tough year. I saw someone the other day allude to him playing hurt, not sure if that is true but if it is that factors into the decision.

I questioned if McGovern is hurt.  In a contract year, it's not unheard of for players to hide injuries as can affect their next contract value.  I really wonder if was concussed as he just is plain missing blocks, like he's can't think quick enough what he should do?   It's one of three things; his legs, his legs, or suddenly got hit with that old age element?  But he looks lost out there.   In the weekly BN column by the ex QB, he  has shown a few complete misses by him.

Add to that the Bills have drafted a number of young lineman,  need one of them to step in purely from a cost standpoint.

I will predict there is a close to zero chance Connor McGovern stays  … someone will pay him $10 million plus and that won’t be us … its his last chance for a payday and he played well the first two years here so someone will pay him …

What gives you confidence VPG is any good?

He plays one position and he is still on the team… they must be keeping him around for a reason

I have no indication one way or another but I’ll say I trust kromer a good bit and if they go that way I’d imagine he blessed it

At the time they paid Knox they were utilizing his skills in the passing game and since they now have Kincaid they barely call his number so that is IMHO the biggest reason why ya'll think he's over paid but I think if his number was called as much like it was before Kincaid show'd up he'd be worth the money .

I think Bosa should be brought back because when Hoecht was in those 2 games he show'd what he could do if all of the attention wasn't on him, most all of the others that you mentioned I too think will be gone and the team will be pretty much a different team next year .

Samuel has been a bust for the hope he had coming in Palmer might be a bit better if Josh can develop some chemistry with him but Moore let him walk !

No my issue with the Knox extension was he still had a year left on his rookie deal. Ahead of the 2022 season, Beane gives him a 4 year $52 million extension. To me it just didnt make sense. No team was about to make a move for him & Knox wasn't going to go anywhere. We didnt need to do that at that time & surely didn't need to pay him that much. At least imho. That extension turned out to be pretty bad & Knox restructured of course in 2024 to save us a little money. But while it reduced his cap number, it extended his time with us another year. A year where he'd get paid more with us than on any other team. So its still a win as far as he's concerned. The Knox extension is just 1 of course, there's been a few others that we can look at as weighing this team down a bit.

But I agree with you on Bosa & the wr's for the most part. What we really need is some more impact players. You can probably count on 1 hand, the amount of impact players we've gotten out of our drafts. It just hasn't been good enough & its the poor drafting that has really put us in this situation.

I'm with you.  Samuel is so bad that I'd actually consider playing a slightly more bad Moore over him so he doesn't get hurt and saddle us with his contract next year.  Otherwise agree.  Frankly, I'd probably pay Edwards before McGovern at this point because he's probably the cheapest of the three IOL we have to worry about over the next two years.  I'd consider Bosa at a reasonable price point, but otherwise every one of those defensive FAs is gone.

Good thing about the OL is I think they are, justifiably, confident in their ability to draft & develop there.

If they let Edwards and McGovern walk, we’ll have SVPG, Anderson, Grable and Lundt all with time on task in the system with Kromer.

Van Demark is another question mark.  He’s an RFA after this year.  If he plays well in place of Spencer Brown, which I think he will .. he’s a starter quality player from what he’s shown, do we bring him back?

Tough call on Van Demark.  Is he worth a second round tender?  Not sure.  Otherwise, agree about IOL.  I might consider Edwards for the sake of continuity, but otherwise next year will be time to shine for two of them.  (And maybe three, if we flip the last year of Torrence for four years of someone else.)

Looking to see if anything would change next year and it seems the defense is the one with the most holes to fill and shocker that means a heavy FA and draft for D. The good news is we shed some dead weight and hopefully a few restructures that make sense.

Gone are guys like; Bosa, Daquan, Milano, AJ, Phillips, Hamlin, Poyer, Tre.

Hopefully we draft the right LB , a pass rusher and run stopper. The hard part is we still need a #1 WR and I don’t think we can afford to pay  20+ million to one with guys like Knox, Samuel, Palmer taking up so much cap space.

Short term buying 3 + oft injured, inconsistent WRs isn’t a great plan im sure he thought Samuel and Palmer would be better here but they aren’t. And we overpaid for Knox heavily.

All have to go. I would add another full year to Josh's contract and push as much to the last year as possible.  To be honest I look to move Dawkins, (yeah yeah I can here the wailing and gnashing of teeth now...) but we have seen he doesn't play through blocks anymore, and he is getting up there in age.

That said, I dump every single penny of possible cap this offseason and get a new GM who can actually evaluate talent in the first 2 rounds worth and damn and tell him go get it.
