Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard

Not just for division hopes but I think that’s why last night stings for me so much. Maybe I’m overtired or to fresh from the loss because right now I feel like I do after a playoff loss ending the season.
It’s not like any of this was not already in my face but last night really hit hard. 

 

1. No chance of winning a Super Bowl with this defense

2. No chance of winning a Super Bowl with this WR group 

3. No chance this team wins 3 tough games in a row on the road to get to Super Bowl 

 

7-4 absolutely this team to get in playoffs  but the nail is in the coffin for the ultimate goal.

Please.  The Bills aren’t winning out.  Let’s dispense with that.  I’m sure they’ll look like world beaters against NE (our second superbowl!) and then drop a couple stinkers.  This team lacks the horses and coaching to get it done.  We got manhandled all night by a .500 team and a backup QB.  Disgraceful.

We need a miracle to get healthy to make a run. Get Kincaid back, Coleman to wake up and also play in the slot, Oliver back, Hardman. But these things happening are probably around 20 percent maybe less

Guys. We gotta be realistic here. 

• Oliver, Our best defensive lineman is out for the year. 
• Hoecht, the guy we gave a 3-year contract too to enable us to play a different style of defense is out for the year
• Bernard is about to miss time. And even though Shaq Thompson has been the better player, he's likely to pull his hamstring again in the next game or two. 
• Practice squad level DTs are playing meaningful defensive snaps every game
• Bosa has one hand
• Our rookie 2nd round DT is playing snaps at DE because we're so thin there
• Jordan Poyer is starting at safety
• Taron Johnson appears to have hit the wall

2025 is not the year. 

 

But it doesn't mean the future is entirely shot. When you have a QB like Allen, you can rebuild quickly. 

I don't foresee Beane getting his walking papers this year, so the question is: can Beane get it right? He knows where he's f*$&#$ up. The attempt to trade for Waddle, at least tells you that he knows he got it wrong at WR.

They signed/ drafted injury prone players and older players

I'm not giving them the excuse for injuries because everyone saw it coming

I agree, the change has to be a legitimate upgrade.

 

Answer - I don't know. But i'd be looking in the general direction of the best available OC, who would salivate at the prospect of a JA17 led offense.

It’s not happening. The team will only go as far as the offense can take them and they could do nothing and had no answers against Atlanta, Miami and Houston. The defense is flawed. To think the Bills can go a playoff run against the best teams is delusional. The Bills were pitching a shutout against the lowly Dolphins until the 4th quarter. This team has no heart, energy, passion or sense of urgency. It lacks talent and is also at a coaching disadvantage. There is no way to turn it around.

Looking at the remaining games on the Playoff predictor machines, it seems almost certain we will be the 5 seed, playing Baltimore on the road.  Sure hope things go differently of course, but if that happens... I don't see much chance we win that one.

Despite the defense playing better in the second half, they were a few bad passes away from giving up nearly 30 in the first half to David Mills. Nothing to do with the Bills defense. Open receivers everywhere that he missed.

 

The offense struggling against a great defense on the road is not surprising. But there were still too many suspect playcalls. 

 

These Bills do not have the look of a team capable of going 6-0 and winning the division. In fact, it's time to start wondering if they even make the postseason.

Agreed. I don't know why on earth anyone would think we could win out. We are a .500 club lately.

That's not likely to be the bonus it is most years. Looking at the schedule, the variable games are against the: AFC NORTH, AFC SOUTH, and NFC WEST. As of right now that would lead to-

 

Patriots: Steelers, Colts, Rams

Bills: Ravens, Jags or Texans, Seahawks 

 

I could see the Ravens/Steelers flip flopping spots by the end of the year.

Just # 3 2026 games are not cast in stone like the other 14 games - AFCN, AFCS and NFCW.

The Bills will play the same 14 game slate.
