George Pickens will be a free agent next year.  He’s averaging about 100 yards per game in his first season with a competent QB.  I understand the character concerns, but this is a proven boundary receiver at the peak of his career.  Cost will probably be $30 million per…

Should the Bills be interested? Can we afford it?  Will the Cowboys franchise tag him?

Not sure we should be interested need to know other options... you can afford what you choose to afford but there will be sacrifices someplace...  I dont see Jerry pulling that trigger...

I presume the Cowboys will try and keep him. I feel about him a bit like I did Tee last offseason.

1) I don't think he will end up on the market at the end of it all.

2) I think he would be a big upgrade to the Bills; but also...

3) He isn't the exact style of guy we need. He isn't a natural separator. And I think by now we have seen that is the type Josh best meshes with stylistically.

So I'd be in on it if I have a chance to, but I am not blowing everyone out of the water to get him. He'd likely have to leave money on the table elsewhere to sign here. $30m, I'm in. If it creeps towards $35m there is a point I walk away.

I expect it will

There are a ton of teams looking to elevate their WR room. And aside from Pickens, well ..the pickings are slim at WR in the FA market this coming off season.

I think Beanes only chance to upgrade the room significantly will be to find a trade partner and part with some picks.

I agree the Cowboys will try to keep him, but they can’t sign everyone.  They might franchise him, then try to work a trade.

I’m not sure I agree about Pickens not being a separator.  He’s been better than Ceedee Lamb this year and is putting up huge numbers…I don’t think that happens if you’re not getting open😀

There is no way in hell that Beane is going to shell out market value for a top-flight free agent WR in today's market. The value for the spend is just not there.

It’s actually a pretty good Free Agent WR class expected out.

George Pickens, Romeo Doubs, and Jauan Jennings are the top guys but the middle level WR group has interesting names.

Mike Evans

Deebo Samuel

Jakobi Meyers

Tutu Atwell

Rashid Shaheed

Keenan Allen

Wandale Robinson

Alec Pierce

Jailen Nailor.

Some other intriguing guys as well that aren’t mentioned

I wonder if Jurrah signs Pickens to a long term deal if Ceedee Lamb might be available. Less of a head case and a better separator as well.

So you just count on being able to get someone at the bottom of round 1?  We can’t go into next season with this same kind of receiver room…

He separates at the catch point. He is elite at it. The best in the league. He doesn't separate at the release or in route. He separates right at the top of the route. That isn't the ideal stylistic fit for Josh IMO. I think Ceedee Lamb would be better for Josh if the Cowboys were for example willing to trade Ceedee to retain Pickens.

Alec Pierce is 100% my guy. Will be expensive but not crazy

Id then draft a wr Rd 1, and another rd4/5

And bring back Gabe & Hardman

Shavers

Pierce

Shakir

Palmer

Gabe

Rd 1 wr

Rd4 wr

Hardman - return guy/ insurance for injury

I actually think if we decided to go end of first round there are some intriguing guys that will be available. Early yet obviously with senior bowl combine etc but I actually like this class of WR

I think that the Bills sign a guy in FA but try to acquire a number 1 via trade. That could be a trade up in the draft for Tyson or Tate. It could be a trade for a veteran like Higgins or Jefferson or MHJ or BTJ or Waddle. They aren’t going to try to sell everyone on this everyone eats nonsense any longer. Those that couldn’t see through the ridiculousness of it in August do in November. They’ll get a guy at the top of the depth chart, a FA AND another draft pick IMO. The WR room will look something like this IMO:

- Higgins (trade)

- Pierce (FA)

- Shakir

- Palmer

- Gabe

- Shavers

- Brazzell (3rd round)

He's played great in Dallas opposite CeeDee Lamb. Yet he struggled at times in Pittsburgh and had a bit a diva personality. Personally I don't think he deserves WR1 money. Is he an improvement, yes? Is he a significant improvement and aligns with our offense? To me no and if meant preventing re-signing Bosa? Yeah no thanks.

this guy was too much of a head case for the Steelers to handle— a team that has the most experience handling the biggest head case WRs?!

I don’t think Beane will suddenly go anti-process for a guy like this.

When has Higgins shown to be a number 1?

If we go round 1 WR a guy I really like is Chris Bell out of Louisville

He's definitely a separator. Like 100%.

I like the guy, but he is a hothead and doubt, McBeane have an appetite for it, and we need WRs from the draft, not $30 mil. from free agency.  They have to try extend McGovern and Edwards.  After this year’s extensions, we don’t have the $ for a big ticket item.

it may seem boring, but WR#1, LB#2, and S#3 are top priorities.  Extend our excellent inside guys and even Torrence will be coming soon are optimal.

I mean, look at that system he was in in Pittsburgh, with straight up awful QBs...It's true that Lamb has probably contributed to his success, but still...If I'm the Bills, I'm taking a WR high in the draft and signing Pickens or Pierce...
