Another Fan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Gonna have to go with yes here. Since then nobody’s come close Quote
Gregg Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Voted yes. Honorable mention to Archie Bunker, George Jefferson, Fred Sanford. 1 Quote
Augie Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Am I the only one who has never seen more than a few seconds of the Al Buddy character? “Ever” is a big claim, so I’ll say no. 3 Quote

There have been so many funny Tv characters over the years. From Taxi you have Latka and Rev Jim. I already mentioned Archie, George, and Fred. Also, from Sanford and son you have Aunt Estha. George and Kramer from Seinfeld. It's hard to pick one but Al Bundy is up there as one of the best TV characters. No doubt about that. 1 Quote
Bad Things Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Good grief. Al Bundy? Big, solid NO from me. (Ed O'Neil was far better on Modern Family.) Quote
Fleezoid Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Al Bundy is definitely near the top, but as Gregg said, so many to choose from hard to crown him the best. One character that I always thought was comically entertaining, but only got spot duty, was Col Flag on M*A*S*H. He had some of the most ridiculous comments. 1 1 1 Quote
T&C Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Leslie Nielsen ftw... Police Squad! Runner up is Chris Elliott in.. Get A Life.. Quote

So many great charachters on M*A*S*H. Sidney Freedman, the psychiatrist as another. Alan Alda as Hawkeye is probably my answer for this question. At least in that era of television. Quote

When I was in college there were reruns constantly and on the day of the week that a new episode came out we could watch MASH five times in a single day. I suppose I should have graduated much sooner, but that was the thing then, and with so many great characters. Cheers is another one with multiple great characters. And News Radio. There are a ton of options just in my personal wheelhouse, so I was a no vote above. 1 Quote
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted 35 minutes ago Posted 35 minutes ago many shows through the years that produced a bunch of funny characters but my vote goes for... Robin Williams 1 Quote
Steve O Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago Christopher Lloyd's portrayal of Jim "Iggy" Ignatowski would get my vote, but since I never watched a minute of the Al Bundy character I didn't place a vote here. 1 Quote

Robin Williams Which goes to show once again that every generation has it’s own “stuff.” I loved that show (or at least Robin Williams) in it’s time. I’m not sure how Ted Baxter would go over today, but he amused the hell out of me back then in that great cast. It’s all in the perspective. EDIT: But some things are classic, and they never get old. . Edited 3 minutes ago by Augie 1 Quote
