Now, could I see Brady or Babich go?  Absolutely.  If the season goes sideways, or even if we end up making the Playoffs and are out in the first round, I could see either or both of these guys going, but not Beane or McDermott.

 

That said, I would not be surprised if both Brady and Babich are back as well.  

At this point, I think it’s a given that Brady is not back next season.

I’m in the same boat.  The won’t rebuild, until they have to rebuild and this team isn’t at that point yet.  Terry is not going to fire these two

We looked completely and unequivocally unprepared mentally. That is the coaches job. If you truly did and do your best to prepare them right either:

 

1. Your best isn't good enough

2. They've tuned you out.

 

Looked like a combination of both. I have a hard time believing McD kept their heads outta the clouds after "winning their SB" last week.

 

For clarity I don't care which of the 3 it is, theyre all unacceptable.

 

Amd for the "Terry hasn't hasn't msde a right hire for Sabres/with Rex". I dont want to hear it. We'd have the pick of the litter. They would NOT face the same dilemma the Sabres have. Not at all. 

The players are professionals. It's the coaches job to formulate a game plan, install it, call plays, etc. The coaches are not psychologists.

 

It's shouldn't be the coaches' job to "get them up" for a game. I think at duty ends with college ball.

With the way the Pats are playing they will win the division this season and if the Bills get lucky they will be the second seed unless they play as bad as they did today then call it in .

Not so sure about Beane. His roster management -- player acquisition and cap management -- have been really bad. Also, the meltdown on radio after the draft was embarrassing -- especially since he was clearly so WRONG. One thing no owner (including Terry) likes is being embarrassed.

There’s a difference.  Neither of these of those fired their GM.  They just replaced a HC.  So there was some degree of continuity.  
 

if you blow everything up, you’re likely looking at a multi-year process to get back - especially when you look at the cap situation and all of the contracts that were just re-signed

Who are you going to get as a HC as a GM? Well I know the guys we have are not the answer. I don’t know whoever they get won’t be. At least take a shot. This group has had the MVP at qb for 5 years and has nothing but division titles to show for it.

Allen is gonna be 30 and I just want one title. Blow it up and try something new. Please!

If Terry cared about being embarrassed on WGR, he’d have fired Kevyn Adams years ago!

 

I just don’t think you can fire Beane without McDermott and vice versa.  They are a package deal.  So gettting rid of both would be a true reset.

 

that’s why I said it’s probably more likely for McDermott to overhaul his coordinators and rebuild the offense/defense

This is not a coaching issue.  Look at the talent level of the roster and the cap issue.

NE truly lucked out with Drake Maye as he was a very good QB available at the right time, and they have been able to restock a bit via the draft with some higher picks, but they still have holes.

 

Vrable is a good fit for a rebuilding team like the Pats, he is home-grown as a player so familiar with ownership and fan base, and his disciplined approach will get the most out of a limited roster by eliminating mistakes and ensuring they lean into what works best for their roster each game. He will coach them not to beat themselves.


All that being said, for every team that jettisons a GM and/or HC and then has quick success after, there are at least a half a dozen that fail miserably and fall into cycles of poor seasons and turnover with different HCs and/or GMs at the helm. It is easy to cherry-pick those few that work - especially when frustrated with the current trajectory and all-to-familiar challenges that seem to plague this team.

Been a Bills fan since 1988 and I’ve honestly never seen a team so self destructive as this one. Yeah injuries have played a factor but my god they just can’t or won’t learn from mistakes. This organization has never been good enough to sleep walk to the playoffs. Today was heartbreaking honestly
