Im watching the all 22.. The injury to Jackson...uggh..He took on a double team and made the play in the run game and for some reason Mathis came diving in and hit him low.  Unbelievable.  Then while he was down another dolphins player got thrown into his knee.

Feels like the damn injury was avoidable.  Mathis just dove low and late into a play that looked over and took out Jackson.

What a damn bummer.

This is what happens when you don't have trust in the system and/or WR's. I won't excuse it but it's not a panic, it's a lack of trust

You think Allen will play 2 more seasons then retire, leaving potentially $200m+ on the table in future potential earnings? You’re out to lunch dude.

I agree he won’t live in Buffalo when he retires, I don’t think anybody expects that (and quite frankly, who cares).

I will bet you anything you want that does not happen.

one more year with Josh and he quits is what you are saying.

All because they lost an out of character game to miami.

Not to mention his new contract just started this year so if he quit after 2026 he'd have a ton of bonus money to pay back.

We definitely have him through the new contract which goes through 2030. Now, after that... he'll have earned over HALF A BILLION in football alone, probably the same amount in endorsements and other business ventures, and I could absolutely see him riding off to be a farmer.

So the clock is ticking on actually achieving something with the greatest player in Bills history.

I am watching it too and I only have really seen that on the first two drives.   the first play of the game on offense he had guys short and scrambled and threw it away, the second play he had coleman on a crosser and threw it to cook for 7 yards.

maybe he did more later in the game

You cant say anything about Josh on this board.   He is Teflon and beyond reproach.   He has earned that to a degree with how great he is been on the field.    He is tough as nails, he plays through injuries, which I also appreciate a great deal.     But the guys who play until late in their 30's or early 40's are almost manic and obsessive with a need to win or be the greatest to ever do it.   I dont see that with him.

Agreed, he has achieve saint hood and you will be burned at the stake for Blasphemy if you tell the truth in regards to Josh

The notion Josh is soft is an absolute ridiculous take. Mind baffling. Cmon guys.

  1. Criticism of Josh is generally not well-received here for good reason. He's a fine person, a great football player, and has been a huge Buffalo booster from day one. Generally people who dare to criticize him do so reluctantly and with mixed feelings.
  2. Josh is not playing up to his usual standards...
  3. However regarding #2 above, he's far from the top of the list of problems which ails the Bills.
  4. Regarding his leadership skills, Josh has been characterized as "our big golden retriever of a quarterback" which is partly to say that he doesn't have the a-hole gene in him like Brady, Manning, and Rogers (and Jim Kelly and Dan Marino for that matter) do. This is both why he is beloved and also arguably an area where he could become a better leader. The next time Josh publicly calls out someone in the organization will be the first. I highly doubt he even criticizes his teammates in-house.
  5. It would be great if the organization doesn't confuse Josh "not rocking the boat" with him being happy about the current state of affairs.
  6. This organization has done a good job of building a perennial contender around Josh... but they have to do better.

This idea is probably correct and silly at the same time. It would seem that Buffalo would be prepared to get their competition's best effort. So play with that in mind. Don't play these teams like you deserve the win without a game plan.

The play before Josh made the bad throw to shakir on the screen, they were in 22 with giliam next to knox on the right, the ball is snapped its a handoff to cook and he gets hit immediately......the reason is it looked like knox didn't know the snap count or didn't hear it, he was late getting out of his stance and completely whiffed on his block.  There was nowhere to go anyway because the formation is inviting all the defenders into the box but two guys got home free on cook before he got to the line of scrimmage.

we haven't seen much of that.

also Samuel made a great effort to recover the cook fumble, he kept the safety from recovering it then got up and hustled over and dove on the ball and bounced off of it.  If he recovers that at the 5 yard line it is probably a different game.  I guess that is how thin the line is in winning and losing.

mcgovern misses his second level guy is what happened

knox is late but actually gets in position and the cutback is there if cook finds it, he just didn't see it imo

should probably be recognizing that you add a gap when you motion Hawes onto that side

Here's the thing as far as criticism towards Josh goes

He's coached by an OC that seems to be out of answers when it comes to figuring out the pass game

He has a head coach that did not have his team ready to play and once again coached spineless punting on a 4th and inches

Has a bunch of JAGS to throw to and lost his best receiver who is a TE

Has to help out a defense that just isn't up to the task at this point

Can you really blame Josh with all this going on? The guy is carrying an enormous burden that he shouldn't have to

If he had some help and he was playing poorly, I'd criticize him

He is not in an envious position right now

I just laughed out loud for a good 2 minute at my desk thinking about how we rolled out Ray Davis for that onside kick. My coworkers thought I was manic until I explained and then they laughed too
