Sauce Gardner to the Colts for 2 1st round picks (and AD Mitchell)

This back and forth reminds me of the discussion (such as it was) regarding who won the Ryan O’Reilly trade.  Doesn’t matter how many 40 goal seasons Tage Thompson has. Blues won a Cup and O’Reilly was playoff MVP. Blues won the trade. Similar to the Stanford trade. If Colts somehow manage to win a Super Bowl with Gardner, they win the trade.

Gardner doesn’t make the colts a SB contender - they have a fake good Qb who will become a pumpkin come playoff time

They could catch lightning on a bottle like the Bengals did a few years ago and win a Super Bowl.

This mindset of not willing to sacrifice the future to win now. This whole thought of "if everything goes our way and we are lucky and win a Super Bowl great". I don't want to go back to the drought years so make sure you don't trade that 3rd or 4th round pick to help this team now.

The colts remind me of the Vikings a couple of years ago. They got off to a great start and fell apart in the end of the season.

Yes. That’s a solid comparison. I feel like the wheels are gonna fall off with Daniel Jones.

Yup. You think the Lions or Rams won the Goff/Stafford?

Lions made some great moves with it, Rams won a title

Unless the lions win one too, the winner will always be the Rams

If anybody thinks this trade makes the colts Super bowl favorites I got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn

Really good price

Indy certainly did not win this trade.. nothing like the Stafford trade

Kinda crazy what Indy did. Such a high draft price (plus a young day two WR) for the highest paid CB in NFL history who also has issues with penalties and run support effort/physicality. He's so gifted as a press man boundary corner, but can he rediscover all-pro play without all the clutching and grabbing he got away with earlier in his career?

It's a fine line for these aggressive, long-limbed cover corners. One recalls dominant NE and KC and SEA (and others) DBs over the years who, if the broadcast or later film reviews allowed, could be seen holding and tugging and mugging so dang often that refs would get desensitized and ignore it for untargeted routes and also just more broadly**. Or not even call it at all in such glaring examples as the Saints "losing" to the Rams in the 2018 NFCCG. Will the refs give him some wiggle room on a defense known to be very physical overall? Would highlight and reward one of the most aggressive trading seasons in memory.

**Not unlike the way KC's OTs, especially Taylor, have lined up too far off the LOS and/or false started and/or held on nearly every single passing play for years but only get flagged once or twice per game at most.

Yeah I am.  What they are doing isn't working. Sure they win the AFCE each year and make the playoffs. Outside of the 13 second season they haven't been close to a Super Bowl.

We have been one or two plays from SB last year.

It's hilarious to me that people argue that a year where we lost in the divisional round was closer to a SB than last year, where we narrowly lost a the AFCCG in which the refs were actively screwing us over on spots repeatedly.

Colts made a big mistake there. Danny Dimes is going to come back down to Earth and they just gave away their draft capital.

I remember the Giants thought he was going to be a franchise QB too.

The Bills were actually closer last season. One drive away as opposed to one game away.

Sure they were closer to the Super Bowl last season. In terms of winning it, the 13 second game season, talent wise they were much closer. IMO had they made the Super Bowl last year, th result would have been the same. Eagles win big.
