Strength is an issue that can get fixed with better coaching and discipline where smarts and talent are not - plus he was a udfa. If he was stronger maybe he’s a drafted player - worth a flyer to see if better training and coaching can find a player worth keeping around

Very true that public discourse on our needs or wants are often birthed from x/podcasting group think - they do watch film, but they are not in the room and do not know what this scheme is planning on being. I am interested and value the entertainment of that sector of Bill’s media, but honestly, if they were so good at being right ( which they are very happy to tell you about how much smarter they are then professional scouts), then why wouldn’t they be professional scouts already? Just a legitimate question to ask. I think the truth probably lies in the middle bc even the teams are not great at predicting who is going to be good or not. If you hit on 50% of your draft picks, you’re basically a genius in the NFL.

This is just false on the WR end - it’s not a glaring need they traded for dj Moore! It’s frustration that they don’t take swings with higher picks to find a stud on a lower cost deal like GB - but it’s false to say it’s a big need - they have 4 deep now + shavers + they will resign cooks if they don’t draft one

So which guy we lost out on is that guy you’re referring to? people are always whining about the bills and blown draft picks… somehow people forget that Kansas City has just as many blown draft picks. Do you remember Clyde Edwards Helaire? That was a first round draft pick on a bust running back. Or how about sky Moore? You can do this with any team… The bias is that you think somehow buffalo is the only team that has draft picks that don’t work out. That’s why having more pics is better because everybody misses… Especially in this draft where the tier of talent is equivalent. They are getting more shots at the same level of player. Whether you want to believe it or not. that’s what makes it awesome because statistically it increases their chance of actually hitting on a player there’s actually a graph of drafted value over draft picks value, and believe it or not the bills are actually towards the top of that list… I will try to dig it up, but it’s out there

This “ guys that might not make the roster” whining is just false bs - these picks are basically all 2-4 that he got - we have many of our best starters that have been picked out of this range… In our fourth round picks have been out of the park for the most part. Shakir, Johnson, Spencer Brown was a late third… It’s like people want to be obtuse on purpose just to be mad. This was amazing work, and the people that should be getting criticized are the Texans are making a horribly bad value trade to be honest.

That’s just not true - their 6th is a top of the round pick and they may use the 7th on a punter or kicker - everyone of those picks bc of where they are in the draft will be on the roster - there were no fifth round pics cut from last year’s draft in the entire NFL last year and basically that’s all of the bills picks except for their 7

In this draft pick 10-40 are pretty equivalent from the pundits
