We saw today how important a pass rush can be when we play the chiefs. If Bosa goes down (more probable than not) this D is toast. 2 Quote

We were borderline needing to make a move before Hoecht’s injury, think this seals the deal now. Length of season does lessen the salary cap hit, but guys going to IR has no effect whatsoever. This isn't the NHL where you can bury salary by putting guys on LTIR. For instance, Hoeght's salary cap isn't reduced at all by him going to IR Quote

He seems to fit the mold that Hoecht did, even if he is having a bad year in Miami. Honestly, this is my thought too. We don't really need another DT, we need a moveable piece. Someone that can play all over. Maybe a guy like Isaiah Simmons? 3 1 1 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Honestly... I think the plan will be TJ Sanders and Landon Jackson... 1 Quote

If his contract has per game roster bonus, the Bills are off the hook for that portion of his pay. Just depends on the verbage. 1 Quote

MasterStrategist Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Hoecht is good, but lots of guys in NFK that can fill that role. Lets see what Beane does. WR, interior pass rush are biggest needs. Quote
The Jokeman Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Alex Wright of the Browns isn't a "name" but has good PFF numbers and could be an Edge option. Quote

Bosa's on fire, Groot has picked up steam, and Epenesa's been very good this year off the bench. Now we can also dress Jackson. We went the whole season save for 1 and a half games with the same Edge room. Edge wasn't remotely the problem for us. We need a DT *way* more than we need an Edge. 1 Quote

Ralonzo Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago 27 minutes ago, Warriorspikes51 said: First thought with Hoecht out would be Calais Campbell to fill that role where he can rush from interior or outside. Concerns would be salary (unsure of hit) & if the player has interest in playing up here? That wasn't really Hoecht's role. He's the Lorax they've been looking for, so without him they're just relegated to being who they've been without Lorax these past years. 1 Quote

Pushing the pocket up the middle is so important these days with as quick as these guys are with getting the ball out. 1 Quote
Brand J Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago With Hoecht, this defense sacked Carolina 7 times and pressured Mahomes far more than they ever had in any of the matchups. They whipped that KC OL all game. He’s a big loss, the drop off to Solomon was noticeable. I don’t know what you do, but without him the pressure won’t be the same. At least Hairston and Bishop are showing well on the backend. Any defensive package that has White, Lewis, or Ingram on the field over our first round pick needs to be rethought. 1 4 1 Quote
