Time to put some separation between us and the Chiefs, fellas.

It’s good that we have an extra day of rest over them.

Go Bills!

31 hours more rest to be a bit more exact.

Here's my theory.........we beat KC every year in the regular season and then lose to them in the post season, so it wouldn't break my heart if it was the other way around this year.

How about we beat them in the regular season AND post season if we play them!

Thank you. The hope of some sort of reverse superstition is bizarre to me... especially in the context of playoff seeding, etc.

Valid. However should we lose, holding on to the idea that losing to them in the regular season flips the post season curse is all I'll be talking about lol

Here's the issue I have with the Chiefs game, and go ahead and flame away if you want.

I said this last season too...and the year before.  The KC regular season game tends to be our Super Bowl.  We all feel so good when we beat the Chiefs.   But the fact is, NO team is beating the Kansas City Chiefs with Mahomes, Reid, Spags, Kelce, Chris Jones..etc. TWICE in a season.  They are too good and will avenge any regular season loss.  You have one chance to beat them in a season.  So if you want to use up that chance in the regular season game that's fine. But then they are losing the playoff game. If we think the Bills can avoid the Chiefs in the playoffs, then it's a moot point.

Why do I say all this when we (as fans) have no control over the outcome?  Not sure.  I just want to get it out there and preemptively lessen the bad feelings from a loss on Sunday.  I think in the long run it may give us the best chance to avenge it.

The difference this year is that the Chiefs are 5-3 and if we were to beat them on Sunday we would be two games clear of them plus the tie breaker.

If that happens we probably wouldn't see them in the playoffs anyway.

The Bengals beat KC in the regular season and then in the playoffs to advance to the Super Bowl in 2021 , I believe.

KC vs Bills comparison

WR - KC

TE - even

O-line - even

RB - even

QB - slight edge to KC

D-line - KC

LB - KC

DB - KC

Safety - KC

ST - even

Coaching - KC

Intangibles - even

Final score prediction: Chiefs - 34, Bills 25

Also factor in they are going to be coming in off a short week and have to travel on top of that. Schedule makers did not do them any favors here.

Why wouldn't we see them in the playoffs in that scenario (where they finish vaguely behind the Bills in playoff seeding)? Is it because both Bills AND Chiefs are wildcard teams? One could still envision an AFCCG showdown in that scenario. If it's because Bills win AFCE but Chiefs are a wildcard, why wouldn't they potentially come to OP?

Couple little bones to pick here: intangibles = EVEN?! With 100% slanted h2h playoff history PLUS published officiating bias, how can one suggest we're even here?

RB - even? No way. Hunt is probably more effective than Davis or Johnson this season, but who cares? Cook is SO SO much better than Pacheco.

Bills OL probably better, too.

Please explain.  Their likely playing for afc title regardless of seed.

I am freaking dreading this game sooooo much. IF we lose, I hope it is a beating so it forces Beane to do something to help Josh.

Thats too late by then IMO. This is a game the Bills need to win. Lets say they don't do anything and we lose badly. That gives Beane less than 2 days to make a trade. Unless he is already working on something, it's not likely.

This will be a classic Mclappy game where we pound the rock as KC lobs TD after TD through the air. As the clock winds down we watch are feckless passing game stumble to the finish line .

Why wouldn’t this happen? KC has started 5-4 before and still ended up in the AFCCG.

We are much better at RB, and I would argue we are better at OL.

My main point was that this regular season game against the Cheafs matters far more than previous seasons because a win on Sunday would put us 2.5 games clear of them.

Now, in that scenario, it would be improbable (which is what I said earlier) for us to play the Cheafs in the playoffs because (a) they finally have two genuine threats in the AFCW + some other tough opponents and (b) they would be 5-4 after a loss to Buffalo.

So on the balance of probabilities, they would be unlikely to be the number one seed and therefore would be a wild card at best.

All of our previous playoff meetings with them have been played as a contest between two division winners, so that will probably not be the case this year.

So not impossible, but improbable. Especially if we also start as a 5-7 seed - which is NOT improbable given all of our issues + the Pats cupcake schedule.

This is the modern day Manning Brady

At this age Peyton Manning also had not won a super bowl either

there's a lot of good football left in Josh Allen

I will be very surprised if Pacheco plays vs Bills on Sunday. He avoided the ACL tear, but he almost surely has a sprained MCL. I'll predict he misses 3-4 weeks.

I saw this too. He took a shot looked like an MCL grade 1. The ACL test confirmed integrity but knees don’t bend that way without a slight tear of the MCL. Could he play? Sure. Will he be 100%? No. I almost prefer he does play as Brashard Smith is a more complete back.

The difference is Denver and the Chargers aren't pushovers and losing to the Bills hurts the Chiefs in Conference tiebreakers.
