I just can't believe how many people in this thread are actually trying to say his marriage is somehow screwing up his mind. Come on with this crap.

Did anybody on here watch the Chiefs the past couple years? Their WRs were awful and the great Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid led an offense that was outside the top 10 in PPG. It's not some big riddle. Tom Brady left the Pats because he was sick of his woeful supporting cast, he went to a great offense and immediately won another Super Bowl. Too many Bills fans and podcasters are trying to puzzle out any possible reason for the passing game issues other than the glaringly obvious one. You simply cannot function as a top tier passing offense with bottom tier pass catching talent.

Tom Brady won six super bowls with New England with three different wide receivers being named to the pro bowl

A consistent line with pass catching running backs and the ability to move the chains was far more important to his team in January then just throwing for 5,000 yards

Tom Brady had the ultimate power move of being one of the greatest ever and getting to go wherever he wanted.. even Peyton Manning won a super bowl with a dead arm because he got to choose his landing spot of the best roster

Tom Brady got the same and parlayed it into another super bowl.. even though he had a live arm he still went to the best youngest fastest strongest most experienced roster available

Some like to judge based off QBR rather than QB rating and that was poor. A 48 I think I saw. He had 160 yards but 50 of those came on Shakir’s catch and run. Allen didn’t need to be magical this game because Cook was going off, but he WILL need to be magical next week. He’ll need to have his most complete game of the season.

I looked into QBR and how it was calculated a few weeks back.

It’s nonsense.

Thank you!

This idea that his wife telling him "he's more than a Football player" definitively means he's not putting in as much work and focus into Football is ridiculous.

There's a million ways you can take that statement. Maybe she's saying he can help people more. Maybe that means he doesn't have to let his performance on the field dictate how he feels about himself.

His performance on the field has nothing to do with who he goes home to at night. She has no effect on his work in the building during the week. And she was with him all last season when he was MVP.

Agree

It's simple

Not nearly enough offensive talent on staff or on field

The Giants won a super bowl with 2,000 yards from their wide receivers

We're going to get more than that

.... Josh Allen is the most talented

It doesn't mean he can't be better.. he can be the greatest ever... Now he has to finish that because he has the talent

Listen I would love to all pro wide receivers but we don't have the draft position to draft those guys .. let alone the salary cap to really sign them in free agency.. Josh Allen knows that when he's signing his 350 million deal

Brady had one of the greatest TEs of all time catching passes for him. And Edelman who for some reason still doesn't get the respect he deserves. Edelman was Brady's WR version of Travis Kelce in the sense that he could read defenses as well as a QB and methodically go to the exact spot Brady expected him to. Not an all time player but a great player and several tiers better than any pass catcher on our team this year.

Anyways Brady was a better QB than Allen (or any other QB in history) so he shouldn't even be the point of reference. But I bring him up to say that yes even the GOAT needed some help. People thought his career was over when he was throwing to the likes of Phillip Dorsett and Mohammed Sanu and N'Keal Harry. Shockingly he revitalized his career when throwing to the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown (pre-psychotic break).

The answer is plainly obvious and some people still can't accept it. Luckily I don't think even Beane is THAT stubborn. His WGR rant notwithstanding he isn't stupid, he certainly isn't asking Josh how his marriage with Hailee is going, so I expect him to make a trade. Then the passing offense will miraculously look good just like it did after we added Cooper last year. I'm old enough to remember when threads like this one were created after the losing streak of Baltimore to Houston.

Elite coaching can mask poor WR cores.

Elite playmakers can mask poor coaching.

Josh has middle tier coaching with poor playmakers (in the WR room, mainly outside). Of course it’s not going to look right.

Allen is probably the best QB we’ll ever have in our lifetime, but he’s not a magician.

Listen I want the best wide receivers possible

I don't know how it's possible under our salary cap or drafting position

I just don't see it an all pro walk-in the door.. unless we move a good player in the off season like Oliver and a pick

We had John Brown and Cole Beasley be great pro personnel acquisitions.. like we need to work that magic again

We spent $40M AAV on Rousseau, Bernard, and Palmer so it doesn't exactly take a lot of imagination to work out the rest.

I get where you’re coming from. Elite QBs would have to elevate the talent around them etc. But this group is truly awful. Keon has been such a disappointment.

They were able to trade for a bonafide #1 guy in Diggs. Maybe it’ll happen again.

Again- the Giants won because of their defense. They had more receiving talent than us currently, Eli Manning's offensive contributions notwithstanding.

Top QB contracts do not preclude their teams from acquiring good wideouts. We just prioritize defense over offense

But I'm not the general manager and those guys are under contract signed by beane

You just want to cut our defensive captain and starting defensive end? Or trade them and try to get somebody to pick up their cap..  either of those would be tough to accomplish

That's a front office miscalculation of cap space

Something is definitely off with Allen. I think he is injured and mind fu@ked. The sack he took deep in panther territory today was brutal. He’s holding the ball too long, allowing himself to get hemmed in, and making poor decisions. It is deeply concerning. It ended well today, thanks in large part to the defense and the running game. He is not in Super Bowl form. However the offense has been re-booted, it does not showcase his talent. A mediocre Allen will not beat a good team (like KC) in the playoffs. Pray he heals and gets through this shite which is affecting his performance. If the defense is turning a corner, that is a consolation.

Let's lead the way for retro football.  Get big violent nasty d line, safety, and LBs, who are not made of glass.  Just break down opposing offenses with brutal physical play. Reimburse player fines under the table. Eventually the other teams will fear catching the ball when they know they are going to be decleated.

I think he’s getting frustrated with all the short routes. Jmo. It’s like the Bills passing game is designed to play in a box. Defences don’t respect them going deep anymore because they don’t even attempt deep shots. So basically almost every passing play is like working close to opponents endzone. Windows are tighter, WRs are more bunched up, reads are tougher and throws gotta be more accurate.

Anyone who has played sports before knows what it feels like to be in a situation where they feel they gotta rush a pass or shot before they think an opening will close. Sometimes you just don’t get what you want on it. I think that’s what happening with a lot of Josh’s off throws. He’s making multiple reads a lot and guys aren’t getting open, when something does come open he’s rushing a bit and it’s effecting placement.

Like to say Brady gotta be better but this is the O McD wants. Announcers said that numerous times today. Cook ain’t running for 200 every week and our D ain’t facing Andy Dalton every week so they gotta get this passing game figured out.

I think blaming his wife is hilarious tbh

You realize they were together his MVP season too

IF  there wasn't a consensus opinion that the team lacks a WR1 .....then Maybe saying his off the field life is affecting his game would hold more water for me. Clearly conjectures are all over the place in regards to why his  play isn't perfect

we will see if any moves are made before the trade deadline  to help this situation WR1 or the Bills stand pat.
