But at the same time, if you want to be intellectually honest, you have to say the passing game is, well, garbage. Great win. Passing game needs help, desperately. I agree with all of that. The passing game looks pretty lost right now. That being said, I had no problem with them running a lot yesterday. It felt like that Cowboys game a few years ago. If a team is giving up 6-8 yards every time you run a pitch to the RB, you gotta keep running that play until they stop it. I'll also add that I like the switch to more man coverage, but we'll all have to live with them giving up the occasional big play. 2 Quote

CHIEFS @ BILLS Spread: Chiefs -1.5 Moneyline: Chiefs -125, Bills +105 O/U: 50.5 Line could move if KC loses tonight, but I think the Chiefs being slight favorites makes sense although I think the Bills will win. 4 Quote

Cool. I think Shakir ended up almost making a toe tip catch on the scramble by Allen but was OOB. There is no threat down the field and those deep players are just camping right at the line to gain. It is the perfect storm of inability to scheme guys open and the lack of talent to have a guy win 1v1 on the boundary. If this was a snap shot from 2022, Allen is 100% going to the bottom of the screen vs this look taking the match up. We saw it a million times with Diggs. He never looks that way and just plays the concept up top which seems outmatched from the snap. My question is simpler….how is it our WRs are the same distance from LOS as their DL when the latter is being met immediately by our OL? Quote

It’s great to be able to run the ball, but we didn’t throw downfield much beyond about 5 yards. Nor did it look like we could. Oh, and get well, Ed. Agreed, and I'll add that it wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates. The Bills were up 40-3 with a minute and a half to go in the third quarter! They could have scored 50+ with relative ease. 2 Quote
Dunkirk Donski Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Interesting to see who returns next week. I expect Bernard and possibly Milano. Do we have a timeline for Palmer? Quote

This was a downright demolition of the Panthers! Our passing game will be just fine next week. We haven't seen it yet... it's coming though. We do need Palmer back. 1 minute ago, Dunkirk Donski said: Interesting to see who returns next week. I expect Bernard and possibly Milano. Do we have a timeline for Palmer? We def need/want Palmer back. I was fine with our LB's yesterday! Having depth is a great thing though too. 1 Quote

They were supposedly considering to IR Palmer, so I would be very doubtful of him playing. I do wonder if Daquaon, Bernard, and Milano will be in. Those veteran returns would help ease the likely loss of Ed (who even if he's not as seriously hurt as we think is likely going to miss 2-3 weeks on a slight tear/strain) on defense. But my main concern is going to be the offense esp if Palmer whose the only outside WR capable of semi-consistently breaking man coverage on the boundary can't go. 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago One of my favorite things I saw in that game was Elijah Moore busting ass to get a clean cut-off block on the dude chasing Shakir along the sideline on the long TD he had. Even tho it looked like he wasn't going to catch him, never know if he could have dove and got a finger tip ankle trip on him...Moore eliminated that chance with a great hustle play...guarantee he is getting Big Props for that play when they watch the film. 1 Quote

34-78-83 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We all know at this point that a true boundary Wr is needed on this team. The issue with the "data" presented idea that the WR's are NEVER getting open is that all you have to do is look with your own eyes, and you'll see that while yes, it is true that they are often struggling to get open, there are ALSO times where receiving options ARE open. There were no less than 3 times yesterday where Coleman came open (by a significant amount) on his route. I actually saw him used on a crosser! I almost passed out. Moore also came open on a number of routes, one that Josh missed him awfully on. There were other examples of this as well. Watch the game back (even the regular tv cast shows these) if you don't believe me. In the case of yesterday, Josh missed these open options. He needs to be better too. And yes, overall, the receiving options we have typically are lacking good separation.... I thought it was also interesting that when Mitch came into the game, he threw 2 passes and completed them to "NFL open" receivers that were only open by a half yard or so. Largely this is a WR problem yes, but NOT entirely. 2 Quote

Largely this is a WR problem yes, but NOT entirely. Good post. A weird thing: Allen has the second highest QB rating of his career right now (103.6), is tied for his YPA high (7.9 ypa), and has his second highest completion rate (68.0). Yet his QBR is the worst since 2019: 62.0. He's usually a beast in that category, but his 6.64% sack rating (highest since 2019) is likely dragging it down. It's not as if the line is bad either; it's actually pretty great. I do think that QBR number better captures where he is right now than the other metrics, but he's certainly capable of stringing together some elite-level games. Go time starts this Sunday, with a bunch of tougher opponents on the menu in coming weeks. 1 Quote

This feels like sneaky good timing for the bills as far as scheme goes at least…extra rest compared to kc and just got a bunch of guys available on defense that there isn’t a lot of tape on. the Ed injury is a tough break though for sure Edited 2 hours ago by Generic_Bills_Fan 1 Quote
Success Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm really hoping we see a trade for a WR today or tomorrow. It's the only thing giving me a lack of optimism about the Chiefs. Our current WR corps is simply too easy to cover. If they get a more upper-tier receiver, even someone like Meyers, it will make everyone a little better & hopefully create some mismatches. As it stands, our passing game is borderline anemic. And I never thought I'd say that w/ Allen as QB. Quote
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Anyone see the video of McDermott's speech? Looks like the locker room couldn't be less interested. Quote

If it makes you feel any better I think the receivers last year were just as bad if not worse(assuming palmer plays which he may not) and the offense did enough to beat the chiefs twice I’d say. They really were running at will for a lot of that playoff game…just came up short (allegedly 😂) on a couple qb runs haha should def trade for someone but even if they did it right now idk if they’d really be ready to meaningfully contribute in the chiefs game realistically Quote

The Bills had garbage time for a full quarter and played Sunday afternoon compared to monday night. 1 Quote
