Italian Bills Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I'm 54 years old and I've lived through all the failures of both the Bills and the Knicks, so I’m very experienced in this. What I see is a strong similarity between the two franchises, especially in recent years. The Bills, after the arrival of McD and especially Josh Allen, have become more and more of a contender year after year — but for a variety of reasons, they’ve never reached the final goal. The Knicks have followed a similar path: after years of embarrassment, coach Thibs and Brunson arrived, and now the Knicks have become a respectable team — but again, without ever achieving the ultimate goal. Differences between the Bills and the Knicks? The Knicks decided to try and make a change, moving from Thibs to Brown. Will it work? Will it help? No one can say for sure, but there’s definitely more excitement now. With Thibs, it had become really boring — always the same game plan, and in the end, no ring, not even a Finals appearance. I wish the Bills would have the courage to make a change too… but I doubt it will happen before next year. 1 1 Quote
harryS Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago While I agree with you that a coaching change is needed, the comparison of Brunson and Allen is iffy, haha. Josh is perhaps the best player in the NFL and no worse than 3rd. He really should win a title during his prime. Brunson's like the 20th best player in the NBA. He won't win a title and can't be expected to. 3 1 Quote

To add how about 90’s when they were great team but couldn’t get over hump and had the Bulls to get past in eastern conference. 1991-1993 bulls eliminated Knicks then again in 1996 1 Quote
MPL Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The Bills really need to improve their 3-point shooting. 2 Quote

The Knicks' main issue is they likely don't have a good enough star to win a title but they've sold out trying to put strong enough pieces around him. Bills are the opposite. They have the star but have struggled to put good pieces around him. 1 1 Quote

One superstar, some fun supporting cast like Anthony Mason, then a bunch of JAGs that ever could get it done Quote
zow2 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Pretty good comparison. All i know is that I cannot recall an NFL team that has been as statistically dominant as the Bills in the early 2020's (compared to the rest of the NFL)...and not made a finals (Super Bowl) appearance. They even have some great playoff success,,, just can't get by one team when it matters most. Quote
harryS Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago In between bites of gabbagool at the dinner table, we all quietly admit that McDermott never had the makings of a varsity coach. Quote
T master Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The only problem that I have is it is a total gamble, I believe some in what your saying and in some ways think that the message might be getting a bit stale to the players too but who would you be able to bring in and make the difference for the better ? Many teams have tried it & our own Buffalo Bills did it for 17 years only to do nothing, I could see it if there was a coach that has proven that he can come in and make the changes needed to be a better team I think Peyton might have been the only one that could give more of a guarantee to do something different and better but who else could do that ? I really love what McD has brought to the Bills but depending on this years out come could be in for some kind of change if they don't do better . GO BILLS !! Quote

We need a very aggressive minded coach, stop with that complementary and conservative way to play the game. We have Josh.. so give him weapons ! True, weapons. Quote

Yah but he's not going anywhere the Bills need someone that is available like a really good coordinator that has been proving his worth to a team for more than 1 or 2 seasons . The coach that won the SB with Philly and left went to Jacksonville and sucked so there is a lot more involved than being a one year wonder . I think if they could have gotten Harbaugh he could have done some big things with the squad the Bills have but that's not happening either . I just not sure if the gamble would be worth it but something needs to be done I'm just not sure what ... Quote
Italian Bills Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago (edited) I totally agree with Harbaugh, but now he’s gone. Campbell isn’t going anywhere too, same for Shanahan… i can’t believe there’s not somebody willing to have Josh Allen.. Some college coach that showed to be very offensive minded and very aggressive on defense ? I’m tired about our scared approach where corners are 10 yards away from their men. Maybe we don’t have great dbacks, but being more aggressive could help. Every given sunday all the same approach… with no flash and creativity in the passing game. And forget the rush defense… Let’s see what happen the next two games… Edited 6 hours ago by Italian Bills Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It would be like that if the Knicks had prime Michael Jordan and couldn't get over the hump. Just kept getting bounced by Patrick Ewing and his Chicago Bulls. Quote

There was a team and a guy that was in their way. Sounds familiar? Quote
