As a doctor I can tell you we recommend patients wearing braces as it helps give them confidence in their previously injured leg so they don’t favor the “healthy” leg, which sometimes lead to further injury

I sometimes wear my knee brace for leg workouts as I tend to tweak it occasionally. Had a situation a long time ago while squatting where my knee buckled and I think I damaged my patellar tendon pretty badly but never got it checked out, just stopped doing legs for a few months while it healed. Still bothers me from time to time, and noticed it bothered me a lot when I used to play flag football and blocked - any sort of sudden force or impact while standing seems to bother it the most...

Pain is typically straight down the kneecap, so I brace it for a few days during workouts and my walking(I get 18-20K steps a day) and it goes back to normal without any pain. Probably something I am going to have to deal with for the rest of my life I assume at this point now that I am 50 and the initial injury was over 10 years ago.

IMHO I would think that he has been doing some kind of light running recently maybe not so much cutting or turning which he will need to get back up to speed that way but to think he hasn't done any type of drills I don't think would be part of the rehab .

I believe in the very beginning he would have no running what so ever but at some point I would think the medical staff would have to have him on a leg or stair master type machines and doing some kind of light running drills to make a determination that he was ready to come back .

But I only play a doctor on TV so I wouldn't know for sure 🤣 .

Arm bike machine for cardio?  Thats my guess.  Not a substitute, but a damn good option when you cant run

Sunday will be 89 days since Max hurt his knee, how bad was it? Was it just a sprain or something else? Seems like its been an awful long time Max has been sidelined whereas other guys in all sports seem to maybe miss a week or 3 due to something similar, a knee sprain. Something kind of stinks about this whole situation.

Partial LCL tears can take up to 12 weeks to heal completely. Seems like Hairston’s must’ve been close to about as bad as it could’ve been without being a full year.

I understand your thinking.  And it makes sense.  However, there should have been a better plan this offseason at CB.

I just don’t think that Tre White should have been in the teams plans period.  There had to have been other options at veteran CB to bring in to compete for playing time.  Poyer Hyde Tre were all real good in their time.  But we never got to the Suoer Bowl with any of them.  Now they are all old-NFL wise.  Time to move on from the past.

the organization seems stuck in a time warp from 2020-2021.  I don’t get it.

I think they brought Tre in to be a backup and mentor.

Anytime you bring in a FA, there's some risk involved.  He might have trouble learning a new system, adapting to new coaches and teammates, paying attention in meetings, whatever.  There was little risk with Tre because the coaches already knew his character and Tre already knew our system.  He has a good depth signing that turned out to be a bad starter.

I agree. Would I love him to get some playing time, especially if we are up big against the Panthers, sure. He's had 4 practices in the NFL, 0 preseason games. The likelihood that they'll throw him out there against KC with under two weeks of practice are extremely unlikely.

I’d rather have him be a surprise to KC with a lack of game tape.

My whole hypothesis as to why they picked Hairston is to be an answer to Worthy and his speed.

We seem to chase the Chiefs.  We’re more reactive to them instead of proactive. Make them chase us for a change.

I understand all that.

But character and understanding the system mean nothing if you can’t play the game well any longer.  Starter back up or 3rd stringer.  There has to be a certain level of athleticism to be able to compete at the pro level in any sport.  And we have too many guys on this roster who are lacking that.

And that is a fundamental flaw in the McBeane regime.  And a big part of why we have come up short every year even though we have a special gem at QB

I don't think signing Tre was a horrible idea.  I do agree, though, that Beane didn't do enough for the CB position overall and that we lack a certain level of athleticism.  Some teams are faster than us.  Some teams are more powerful than us.  Some are both.  Josh is our only elite player.  It's not a great roster.

Agree about the roster Hondo.  I do think James Cook is close to elite at RB. But after him there is quite the fall off.  And that’s not good.  I think if Kincaid can stay healthy and we scheme him for more targets he can become a very good TE.  Elite is for a special few.

Worthy's shoulder isn't fully healed and he left last weeks game early. Ideally he stays hurt throughout the rest of the season. That said Kelce is still a mismatch for most defenses including ours that import to keep an eye on. As is Rice. Hollywood Brown think can be held in check and depending on who's covered JuJu he could be a problem too. That said Chiefs defense has some questions on the Dline and secondary themselves.

You are in Seattle.  You get a first hand look at an aggressive defense in the Seahawks.  Love the way they play.

it’s interesting both McDonald and McDermott are defensive side of the ball coaches.  One plays aggressive. One plays passive.  Ugh!

Certainly. Like I said, he'll be on a snap count the first week he plays, cycling in for White. He'll get more and more the following weeks, if it seems like he's comfortable and performing well.

But the idea that "Tre needs to be watching the game from the sidelines" implies taking over for him full time. That's not going to happen immediately. We're 2-3 weeks out before he starts getting some in game reps and then probably another 2-3 weeks before they entrust him with starting over White, if that happens at all. Here's hoping though.

The bills need to get a CB from someone's practice squad.  Tre will not be able to hang in there for another 6 weeks
