Going through the league and looking at teams that aren’t going anywhere and who possess a genuine #1.

Jets: Garrett Wilson. They are not trading him, and certainly not to the Bills.

Dolphins: Waddle. I actually think he is slightly more plausible than Wilson in terms of willingness to trade, but only by a tiny bit. And I can’t see him being traded to the Bills at all. I would trade a first for him, though.

Browns: Jeudy. Maybe? He’s a better player than many think, but the Bills haven’t had luck with Browns castoffs these past two years.

Bengals: Chase/Higgins. Neither is being traded. They are being saved for next year because Cincy has the QB.

(Ravens: Nobody because even though they are 1-5, they appear to still see themselves as still in it.)

Titans: Calvin Ridley. Plausible.

Raiders: No one moves the needle for me.

Giants: No one; Wandale Robinson isn’t a position fit and is a JAG anyway.

Saints: Olave. Perfect, but I just don’t see the Saints robbing their offensive minded head coach of his best receiver. I would trade a first for him.

Saints: Brandon Cooks. This is basically an Amari Cooper move.  No thanks.

Cardinals: Harrison, Jr. Not happening.

At the end of the day, the only people I’m seriously inquiring about are Olave, Ridley, Jeudy (maybe), Waddle, and Wilson, but with the expectation that the latter two are no-gos.

If we lose to the Panthers the only trade I want to see is with SF. Josh Allen for a 1st. Let him go with a competent organization.

But back to your premise if we get Olave I want another WR, too.

Ridley and Olave - sending Samuel or Davis or someone else young would be fine - is what i would take.

Tired - The Bills need a number 1 WR. Wired - The Bills need a number 1 and a number 2 WR

Some other names that could fill one of the spots Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, DJ Moore, JaJuan Jennings

A first for Olave? And I thought Beane was bad.

He is a first round talent. Who have the Bills drafted in the first round since Josh Allen who is better than him? The only upper echelon receiver they’ve had in this era was obtained by trading a first round pick.

If it ever comes to that I’d rather he go to the Rams. He would thrive under McVay, but Shanahan runs all of his QB’s into the dirt and much like the Bills- can’t beat KC in the postseason when it counts.

Just because some of those mentioned have a bunch of receptions and are #1s first mean they play X or Y which we need aka an outside WR. Case in point Garrett Wilson and Jakobi Meyers play a lot of slot WR.

He is one hit away from retirement.  He has a serious concussion history.

Serious question...I wonder how many folks would become 49er fans?

I didn't bring up Meyers and Wilson can definitely play outside.

I have serious doubts that this coaching staff could even utilize a top-tier receiver correctly, if we had one.

Yet their success is from the slot. It's the whole DT vs NT discussion. Just because a guy can play there it doesn't mean it's his best role.

Was running through the same list in my head this morning.  None of these seem realistic unfortunately.  The Jets and Dolphins aren’t going to help the Bills, and the Browns, Titans and Saints probably aren’t willing to put their young QBs in jeopardy by taking away their primary receiving options.  You’re basically left with Jacobi Meyers and that’s about it, unless AJ Brown has a full-scale meltdown.

For me the only realistic option is Olave.   There are a few categories each of these guys fall into, including AJ Brown who was mentioned in another post.

Ridley, Waddle, and AJ Brown all fall into the money sense category.  Ridley is owed close to 15 million for the remainder of the year, and another 22 million dollars on average over the next two seasons.  Thats a horrible idea.  Miami would have to eat 9 million dollars in cap over the next two years to move Waddle.   The Eagles would need to eat 25 million in cap space over the next three years to move Brown.   They'd get no cap relief until 2028.

Jeudy, Cooks, and Robinson are either over the hill or JAGs.  The juice isnt worth the squeeze.

Olave and Wilson both have tradeable contracts.  The Saints need a QB, and the Jets need a QB and almost everything else.  Sadly, I am not sure the Jets are stupid enough to trade Wilson in the division.  Olave is the most tangible of any available wideout.

That didn't stop us from giving Benford 76 million.

and the fans wouldn't complain we aren't using other guys. Listen we've lost the last two games cuz the offense wasn't in synch. Blame players, coaches what have you but there are 11 more games to play and all we can do is hope we improve. Hell as bad as we looked that game was still not out of grasp.

His concussions last year were alarming but not on the same level as olave.

and more importantly you didn’t give up high draft picks in resigning benford.
