Lfod Posted Friday at 11:24 PM Posted Friday at 11:24 PM (edited) I imagine it would be more nuanced than just a yes or no answer that i don't have but let me speculate. Rookie Josh Allen flashes but far from the best of what Josh Allen would show. Under Daboll Josh flourishes. With Dorsey it felt like a run it back plan until it didn't work because people adjusted and clearly Dorsey did not have answers. With Brady it felt like they unlocked cook and the running game so he technically earned that spot. The only unknown is after a bad stretch does he have an answer? My guess. They find what works and ride it till its a dead horse and then ride it more. If I was McDermott my line would have always been open to anyone with credentials to sell me on how brilliant of an OC they can be with a star QB. Edited Friday at 11:28 PM by Lfod Quote

The Bills offensive coaching staff consists of roughly 10 guys. The roster has 20-some offensive players. I'd like to see the Bills develop a collective IQ that matches the 49ers, Chiefs, or Rams. Solicit the players for input (some of them are smart and observant) and collect the best offensive football minds you can find. Right now, our passing game specialist is Marc Lubick. I know little about the guy, but I wonder if we can upgrade him. Or complement him with another young passing game sensei or maybe an Assistant OC who excels at Xs and Os. Whatever the case, Brady needs to build a team of smart offensive coaches who collaboratively scheme and problem-solve at such a high level that no opponent can stop our Superman-driven offense. So, yes, I agree the main problem of our offense is Beane, not Brady, but I still want more from Brady. The last two weeks of offensive turds isn't all on Brandon. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Brady didn't make much lemonade in the Pats and Falcons games. I feel like life gave Brady the best lemon (Josh) and Brady/McD want make the best orange juice they can with Cook. They have the MVP and they choose to focus the team around the running back and defense. Quote

Pete Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago Christian McCaffery has 53 receptions. James Cook has 12 receptions. It’s a copycat league. If you can’t figure out how to game plan throws to James Cook on your own Brady- start copying San Fran’s excellent coordinator’s game plan. Mac Jones threw for 343 yards and beat the Rams with no Aiyuk, no Kittell, no Pearsal- start taking notes Brady. That’s how you win with backups. We knew here at TBD that the Falcons blitzed more than any other team. Joe Brady’s gameplan had no plan to counter the blitz. It was like he designed some stupefied game-plan, and would not waver from it. He never made adjustments. And Josh continued to take a beating. McD said “no more cute plays. Fundamentals.” Bills Reporter asked Brady about his “cute plays”. Brady “define cute” Bills Reporter “your coach said it” 😂 imo Brady was disobedient and ran same stupid “cute” jet sweep on 3rd and short- with same result- lost yardage and fumble. Run the ball, and you will have 4th and short most likely if you don’t make it. The definition of insanity is doing same thing multiple times and expecting different results hashtag #️⃣ Joe Brady, stupid, crazy, disobedient Edited 17 hours ago by Pete Quote

TheFunPolice Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago No. This is McDermott's preferred approach. Safe and steady. Limit mistakes. Low event football. Yes, sometimes (13 seconds, opener this year) that has to go out the window, but we have one of the best QBs in the league and won't lean into it. Quote
stlbills13 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I feel like we go into games with a plan and don't deviate until it's too late. Both sides of the ball. Brady is best when he can script an entire drive (1st drive of game/2nd half). He's struggling more this year when being put on the spot. For all of the lack of pass catching talent, our offensive play calling has been extremely poor 1 Quote
zow2 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I’d like to see one game this year when the coaching makes adjustments and dominates the opponent. Let’s see it this weekend. I’d give them the last 5 mins of the Ravens game but that was mostly Josh making plays and a great forced fumble. 1 Quote

Poleshifter Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Brandon Beane’s refusal to draft a speedy wide receiver! Why would you need one or two of those? Hey look, I can trade down and get more quantity. Like Dewayne Carter. Wonderful. Have you ever watched Xavier Worthy play the game? Was he naughty in college? You will get to watch him soon - very likely shredding your complicated defense. Quote
JBI$111 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Yes... but one of just many issues, he has no clue on how to use the personnel we have currently and even if we had decent wide receivers, I wouldn't be confident at all that they would be properly utilized in this offense with Brady running it. Frankly, he's clueless on how to design plays or use players correctly. And if we had proper talent and unfortunately at wide receiver, we do not and haven't for years because of Beane's criminal neglect, he wouldn't know what to do but run cook straight up the middle of the offensive line like he has been doing on most all designed run plays. And sadly, even if Beane ever picked or tried to pick top quality wide receivers, I'm not so sure or have any confidence at all that Beane would or knows how to actually pick the right player because he's made so many blunders and so many bad pics year after year. He could have picked obvious players to most everyone but him, including even us fans that were screaming this is the better pic of who's available, yet he didn't make them and picked someone else which was almost always a bad pick to his detriment and hopefully soon, his downfall. And I'm sure many of you notice, but every time we run the ball, there's a running back in the background with Josh and it's of course, a run play every time... and every time we pass the ball, there's no running back in the backfield. That's pretty obvious to a high school level defense on what we're going to do, let alone an NFL defense. It's simply easy to figure out and pretty easy to stop the crap that's been being called & going on for a while now. And the defense is just on a whole nother level of disaster and has been really for years. They can't stop the run, they can't cover wide receivers, they can't blitz, they can't stop anybody, especially on 3rd and longs and they constantly fold when they're needed most. Yet good old master genius Beane (and many of you would constantly preach in Beane we trust) with I'm sure McDermott's constant meddling in what he picks, has been making monumental horrific draft capital mistakes and free agency acquisitions since inception (with almost all defense), yet the defense is still pathetic. Even more embarrassing, we have a defensive minded coach. At the end of the day, Brady does not have a great feel for the game, when and when not to call certain plays and just overall, he's a poor play caller. He calls the wrong plays at the wrong time, doesn't know how to use the limited personnel that we have currently to get the most out of, his schemes are mediocre at best, he doesn't know what to do or how to adjust properly as the game unfolds most of the time and any trick plays, he doesn't use the right players when called. So yes..., but he's just one of so many problems and issues with this whole organization and staff that's compounded rapidly unfortunately. Furthermore, it looks like it's finally coming home to roost for all to see at every level and the numerous cracks are starting to show all at once from the years of neglect and bad decisions! Yes, I'm still salty!!! Quote

JBI$111 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Brandon Beane also doesn't seem to realize or it doesn't seem to sink in his stubborn brain, that the wide receiver position is one of the most expensive in the NFL and drafting first round wide receivers that actually have talent is good cap management as well. That seems to completely go over his head because he's done none of that and basically drafted zero first round wide receivers since inception. The Diggs trade really doesn't count. However, the infatuation with spending almost all resources and assets every year drafting defense and drafting first round defensive players, then having to cut them or have those players rarely if ever play or end up being anything great, is another indictment on Beane and his staff's ability to know what the hell they're doing along with their consistently bad decision making and organizational management. Josh, he got lucky on cuz nobody knew for sure and that was more of a flip of a coin and it could have went in either direction, yet he's got a pass because of it. However, if you look beyond that and at the actual facts, the numbers, the players that he's drafted, the free agency acquisitions, the contracts he's given out since he's been here, it's been horrific. Nihilarian Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago What happened to the Joe Brady who called the offense plays so beautifully in 2023-2024? Last season, the Bills were the #2 NFL team in scoring, where is that OC? The Buffalo defense has real excuses, as there are so many injured, and the rookies drafted to start this season are all out with injuries. The D line with suspension is over, so they should help in stopping the run. The current Buffalo Bills are still top 5 in offense with #4 in scoring, #3 in yards, and it's mostly because of the run game. This season sort of reminds me of 2023 when Dorsey was asking Allen to throw a lot to Diggs, but the team was losing games. The Bills' passing offense looks wacky recently and nothing like what Daboll was running. You simply can't be a one dimensional team in todays NFL. If Brady can't get this straightened out rather quickly, it might be the next man up in Aaron Kromer or Ronald Curry. Quote
