I totally agree with this. I'd be shocked if the did any before the end of the season

Pegula, like many other people, lives his life based on fear.  It's very sad to see.

Stop with the excuses!  The Bills manage to find most of their talent in the 4th round and down.  Guys have been available that would have been stars, but the Bills passed on them for the duds we have.  The talent evaluators are missing horribly on the top part of the draft.  Even the year they had pick 10, they take Oliver and miss on multiple pro bowl Days who are all far superior.  They just don’t get the job done, period.  The Eagles are vastly more talented than the Bills, same draft area, the Chiefs pick after the Bills, still more talented, what’s the real deal?

No the eagles have had way more top 15 pics than the Buffalo Bills

Both of their stud defensive tackles top 15.. one top 10... Davante smith top 10

The bills haven't had a top 15 pick in 6 years

It's amazing how pitiful, just awful this defense is! It's it just me or does it seem like every time we play a night game the bills give up a long td run?

I did an analysis in the offseason on what a draft like 5 years ago and after the first 15, was a total lottery of busts after that in the first round.

you can scoot your heart out but what today’s NFL is telling us is that luck plays the biggest part in getting great players after the first 15 picks

There's certainly an element of luck.

I think you're stretching this argument a bit. There's plenty of cases where key players of teams were drafted in mid to late rounds and contributed heavily. Even some undrafted FAs.

If the draft was truly as important as you wrote, the NYJ, NYG, CLE, & the Raiders would be constantly in the playoffs ( well maybe not CLE & the Raiders, they sued the NFL and won, therefore they are frowned upon by Goodell).

its a sad way to live. Reminds  me of a "cheaper to keep-er"  type  marriage.  Cheaper in the football sense means staying with status quo ,  fear from stepping away from "safety"  being "secure"  but not  Great

fear of a coaching change and   regressing. ...I get that too to be honest.

But where did those picks come from?  Shrewd business.   Not because they sucked.
Again, excuses.

The draft is insanely important, those who get it right, win.  Those that don’t, lose.  The Bills lucked out that Cleveland and NYJ took lesser QBs ahead of them and Allen fell to them.   Without that, the team would still be a joke and the regret of trading away Mahomes would still burn strong today.

McD has gotten massive resources on defense.  My expectation is he's as good defensively as Reid is offensively.  It's not the case.

But those resources given to mcD, none of them are chris jones or mcduffie, not even close. Again im not advocating that mcD is 100% not to blame at all, im saying maybe we should ask talent acquisition questions before we fire a "good not elite" nfl coach while keeping a gm that might hang his hat on 3-4 picks and signings in the allen era? Josh, brown, cook, diggs, and benford? And then count the misses in the allen era.

Weird that 8 years later, Darnold & Mayfield are slinging it well. JA not having a good season ( he will be fine).

Once again, coaching matters.

Defense was terrible in the first half, no doubt (although two of the Falcons’ three scoring drives were massively penalty-aided).

In the second half, they gave up three (3) points and about 110 yards.

After the offense came out with a TD drive in the second half, the defense gave the offense multiple opportunities to get back in it, and the offense ***** the bed every single time.  By the end when they finally gave up a field goal, who could blame them?  They were patchwork by that point, and gassed.

The defense has given up 23 and 24 points in the last two games.

A 30-ppg offense wins both of those games.

This is on the offense.

You're right, we've devoted much more than what the Chiefs did in the draft for Jones.  Much much more.

The issue is we've not played good defense for most of McDermott's tenure.  At maximum he's ranked high at times -  however situationally, strategically, schematically and his timely defense has been atrocious.

He's a fine leader and he's brought a new respect to our organization.  That's all fine, but he's not a hugely talented game day and game prep coach.

Wait, you want to blame the talent evaluation, but you want to give a first and more for Olave, when he can be had for far less?

A bills first round is essentially a late 1st, probably not enough to get a young talented receiver like olave (many articles including espn saying it will take a first). Granted health is an issue but he was an elite talent out of college thats had bad qb play.

I think you might be reading fantasy trade projections.

Lol olave isn't getting a 1st in fantasy. But yes olave can 100% get a late 1st from a SB hopeful team like the Bills or chiefs (if he continues to stay healthy).
