Remember back on draft night 2018. Imagine if someone had said "in less than 8 seasons this kid will be responsible for 300 TDs, meanwhile Right Josh will be responsible for 12 in his career and will be out of the NFL altogether in 4 years".

He only has 269 TD total (according to quick google search).

 

Revised the search to include playoffs and it's 299.  Have to assume that google is wrong and that NFL's tweet is correct.  

 

So thankful we have JA17.

Allen also broke the NFL record of most TDs against a single opponent in their first 15 games.  Coming into the game he was tied with Marino (vs Jets) with 42 TDs. Ended the game with 45. 

 

He also accomplished this in likely well under 14 games when talking about "actual" minutes of game time since he sat for the second half in end of the year blowout against the Fins 56-26 one year, and has been on the sidelines for many end of the 4th quarters as well.

Yeah, I see that now and edited my post.  I think Google is under counting by one though.  

 

Also, in my mind, Josh will always have 1 less INT than the record books show.  I can't remember the exact play, but against the Rams in 2020, he threw to one of the WR and it was caught even thought the defender had a hand on it.  Tie is supposed to go to the receiver.  I remember even the commentators were perplexed by that one.  It was a close game and if we had lost, probably would have been a bigger deal than it ended up being.

 

Does anybody remember that INT?  Maybe one of you can post the video (I'm lazy).  Josh got screwed on that one.

Yeah it was Kroft, the TE who came down with it on his back and as he lay on the ground the DB wrestled it away...I was like WTF?  That was the game the Bills built a huge lead only to see the Rams roar back and either tie or take the lead late until a Josh Allen TD pass (I believe to Kroft who caught it on a diving fade in the corner of the left EZ, getting his revenge) won it late.

It’s so funny now that mayfield is playing well and Darnold has looked good at times.  ‘Right josh’ was the only flat out bust in the class lol. Hell even mason rudolph carved out a pretty nice career backup role

Yup. Defender ripped it away after the TE (not Knox) was down by contact. The Bills challenged and the call was upheld. The announcers were mystified.

1) I remember that play. That was also the game when Allen got a penalty for stiff-arming Aaron Donald in his grill.

2) PFR, which is where Google AI gets it data, has a discrepancy in its data. They list 5 passing TDs for Josh in the game logs for 2024, but only 4 in the yearly stats. Hence the 299 vs. 300.

1- Forgot about that!  Who does that to AD, seriously.  I mean I guess it was the right call because he had his fingers into his facemask, but most other QBs would have wilted under that type of pressure from Donald

 

2- Time to start the letter writing campaign.  Call your congress person Bills Mafia!

It wasn't just a stiff arm, either. He used his grip on his facemask to steer the defender into the way of another defender to take them both out of the play. It's the most insane and hilarious thing a QB has ever done.

Hell I'll admit said wrong Josh and then after his 2nd season I thought best Josh be would be a top 15 QB. Awesome on him to do the work to improve his mechanics to take him to another level or two.
