The Bills beat the Jets because of you... (superstition/karma reasons)

How did your actions yesterday help the Bills to win?  Something you ate?  Did you change your shirt at halftime?  Did you wear any new Bills gear you got for the holidays?  I’ll start…

 

I went back to my normal routine, mowed the lawn in the morning, did not wear any Bills gear. We did mix it up though with trying out some new game day foods, one was a giant pretzel, the other a BBQ chicken dip.

Because I predicted the score would be 40-10 Bills. lol

Because I watched the game while re-doing a wall in my daughters’ bedroom. I followed through on a commitment (which so happened to involve carpentry), therefore God smiles upon the Bills.

Despite protests... I kept to the Burgers and Brat menu I had for the Ravens game....

I avoided Bills gear, sat in the same chair (not because of superstition, but because my dogs own my condo, and by extension my couch) and enjoyed the game. Feeling the game well in hand, I put on my stanky once red Bills hat just in time for the Jets to score a garbage time TD. My apologies to Babich and the boys on D... I shouldn't have gotten cocky.

For both the Ravens and the Jets game I mentally prepared myself for a loss. My reverse cynicism worked

I have not worn any bills gear or jerseys for the first two games. I will continue that streak for the rest of my life, including the SB parade…. Unless we lose.

because for the first time in a few years, I did not have my usual "source of unquestionably dubious legal status" (which...ummm...bites) through which to watch the game. So I had to resort to Gamecast on the ESPN app, which was glitchy all game, and RedZone, whose new left/right aspect ratio-fixing red borders threatened to toast my screen. For my righteousness at staying above board, we were rewarded with a Bills victory. You're welcome.

I have done this every week for 25 years. And I'll do it this week vs the fins, even though it will take a bit more mental gymnastics to get me there.
