  • Einstein changed the title to Guelli says Bills “would absolutely consider” playing games in Canada again

Eradicate him from the organization ASAP.

That was the most embarrassing chapter in team history - anyone who wants to give that idea another shot is either a total idiot or has malevolent intentions.

Either way, not a guy you want as COO of your company.

So they decided to build a palace in Buffalo, charge tons of money for PSLs and tickets, then move a game to Canada?

A new stadium with significantly fewer seats, no less.

It’s PR nonsense.

That would be a pretty terrible PR move to tell millions of fans who hated the Canadian series that he is “absolutely open” to doing it again.

Every football fan in Canada laughed at that statement.

1. Everyone remembers how disastrous the Bills in Toronto series was last time.

2. Toronto doesn't have a field suitable for NFL football as the Rogers Centre has been retrofitted for baseball only and BMO field maxes out at 42 000.

3. Canadian Bills fans made their voices loud and clear by boycotting anything Bills related to playing in Canada.

4. NFL won't do that that to the CFL ever again.

5. It serves no purpose to growing the fanbase. Josh Allen's alone is growing the Southern Ontario Buffalo Bills fanbase. Easily the most loved NFL player since Brett Favre.

International series instead of Germany or London, sure

Voluntarily replacing home games in the stadium everyone just financed psls for... how tone deaf can you be?

NO THANK YOU.

If Toronto is going to get a team, it should be one of 4 new NFL franchises to get to 36 teams.

$2.5B for a downtown new stadium in Toronto plus $2.5B for the franchise fee.

I don't have $5B so I won't worry about it.

The NFL does NOT give a crap about the CFL.

Toronto will never get a NFL team. Nor should they. As far as the NFL is concerned they have the Toronto and Vancouver market covered with Buffalo and Seattle. Montreal isn't anywhere near as crazy for NFL as the other two cities.

NFL has maxed out Canada. Only thing the NFL wants from Toronto is more money pouring into Highmark Stadium from Toronto on Game Day. Toronto has nothing else to offer the NFL.

It absolutely does otherwise it wouldn't have bailed out the CFL in 1997. NFL saved the CFL from going under. NFL wants to grow the game of football globally and there is value to having a league where guys can potentially evolve to playing in the NFL. NFL might not give a crap about the CFL as a competitive league but it absolutely wants it to exist.

So what is it then? There is no way they are ever doing that unless it is one of the International Games and it is an away game.

“Tens of millions”?

Yeah if it qualifies as one of the International games it's better than London or Germany.

My thought exactly. Much better than going  overseas. I'd even be the away team in Toronto instead of going somewhere farther.

For a PR Marketing guy he sure can say the wrong though.

If the dude did a survey before making that decision— and damn well he should — he might learn a few things. Forget that crap.
