No corresponding cut with signing Prater?

So with the news of the new punter it also said we signed Prater to the 53. Yet no corresponding move or did we just have 52?

We went into the Ravens game with a 52 man roster in anticipation of doing this after week 1 to avoid guaranteeing Prater's salary.  Might be the same reason we waited until week 2 to sign Johnston.

I would guess Brad Robbins is getting cut. No need for two punters.

They IR'd Carter & Bass, Franklin only filled 1 spot when they did this.

But my question now is who takes Matt Prater's spot as one of the six veterans allowed on the Practice Squad? 

 

Is Gabe Davis getting close and they just slide him in there as active Practice Squad? Or do they bring another veteran FA on to fill that spot?

I heard from a cousin that his friend’s girl heard from this guy who talked to a kid serving ice cream at the 31 Flavors that Shaq Lawson was seen at the Galleria buying cleats.

I'm guessing Jordan Poyer.

They just waited to put him on the 53 so his contract was not guaranteed. There was an open spot

Jordan Poyer is already on the Practice Squad.

 

His release was just a 24 hour formality to get Gabe Davis on the squad, so they could then place him on the Practice Squad Injured List. The team and Poyer knew when they did it that they'd be bringing him back the next day and they did just that.

 

We're allowed six veterans on the Practice Squad. Our six were Jordan Poyer, Jordan Phillips, Dane Jackson, Matt Prater, Kendrick Green, and Dan Feeny (with Davis exempt and on the injured list).

 

Now that Prater has been signed to the 53, we have one open spot on the Practice Squad for a veteran. If Davis is ready to practice soon, they may just move him on now. But if there's still some time, we'll be bringing someone else on.
