Walker is an ANIMAL!

yea.. right off the bat.. I disagree with Joe BIG TIME...  Walker got double teamed... another words.. he took on 2 players. there are going to be times where many DT 330+ pounds will get taken out.

Fact that he needed to be double teamed on a play like this is great... cause it shows he is doing his Job as 1 tech..

1 Tech DT is not all about big plays.. its about demanding double team.

I will argue also on a defensive design like that.. letting your 1 Tech DT getting taken out is what you want cause it makes it easier for your S. and LB to do their job.

Fact is.. he took 2 individuals out of the play making it easier for the S/LB to get in there job

I will also add that, that TB guard did a great job pushing on that shoulder. That is what turned Walker around.

This is why I prefer Cover 1 all 22 over this guy.

I fully expect Walker to slowly get phased in, but with Larry O on suspension to start the year I think Walker has earned a shot as the second rotation and I think we are looking at DaQuan's replacement/upgrade.

Even being a solid starter in year 2 would be a massive steal for a 4th rounder, and I think he has the potential to be even more.

Is Walker better than Sanders at this point?

I'd say so. Don't get me wrong, I like Sander's potential and he's filling the shoes of Ed Oliver instead of DaQuan (who I like but is a journeyman at the end of his career for a reason) but at this point I think Walker is more starter ready.

Walker has ridiculous upside.  A man that big that can throw O-Lineman around and move the way he does… some of those plays are Richard Seymour-esque.  He might even be bigger than Seymour was.

I think reality with Walker on this play rests between your positive review and the video assessment.

Positive - As you said, Walker occupied two offensive linemen, freeing clean space for the tackler.  In fact, by the end of the play, Walker has three offensive linemen on the ground with him. We will do a lot of run-stuffing when our DT1 occupies that type of attention.

Negative - Walker was immediately wiped out from the hole, offering no gap-plugging resistance at all. You or I could have held our ground as long as he did. Of course, 😊 we would be carted off the field, never to walk again. He really should play a bit more stoutly than that.

Both Walker and Sanders excite me. I think our d-line is headed in a good direction.

His ceiling was always enormous. He walked talked up as a 1st round pick in 2023 before his injury. I don't think he'll ever be a run stuffer but if he can draw doubles that would be fantastic.

I think there's very good chance that those two will be out starting interior by 2027

cup half full half empty.  I just think there is not a lot of 1 tech dt that don't get whipped out now and then.

Problem is that leave us with no NT which could leave us vulnerable against the run unless Oliver and Walker both take on two blockers.

I really like Marino and I usually agree with his opinions. But I thought his take on Walker was not good. Even with a bad back all season, he was moving around really well, and pushing guys all over the place.

Of course, we haven't seen any real games played yet. And Marino may end up being correct. But I'm excited about Walker and expect him to be a good one for us.

Walker was on Marino's 5-guys I don't want the Bills to draft list this season.

Doesn't mean Joe won't change his take - but we'll see how everything develops over time with Walker.

Potential and upside is there.

He reminds me of Reggie White, the way he tosses around 300-pound offensive linemen. White maybe had better balance, but Walker is similarly huge, powerful, and agile.

I think Joe is butt hurt the Walker situation.  Dude, just admit you were wrong and move on…

My major take away is that 55 and 57 are the same players. So why sign 55 to a pretty decent contract. Is there more pass rushing upside from 55? Also 42 is really good also. The bills need to go to a 4-3 base and move Taron to safety. Make Taron the strong safety. He is great tackler, can cover slot, TE and RB. Plus is a fantasy blitzes. Our defense would be so much better.

Dude, go look at the Bucs game thread…your boy Cover 1’s take on Walker’s rep on that play was EXACTLY the same as Marino’s🤣🤣🤣🤣

No.  Walker is making splash plays but also losing plays.  Sanders losses are stalemates.   Sanders is more consistent.  I would expect Sanders to play double the snaps as Walker.  In those 10-15 snaps I think Walker can be a big disruptor on the line. I think fatigue will make the negative plays for Walker more pronounced.
