Oh I'm not looking forward to it either but what better option is there? Gilmore is what 36?

At the risk of derailing the thread Whaley was a decent talent evaluator, especially in pro personnel, but where McBeane accel is understanding that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Well said!

Aren't you forgetting Douglas? :)

Can you imagine if Douglas and Simmons are starting for the Bills week 1?

I'm not sure which thread to follow-Tre White hurt or Tre White carted off? I'm jerking back and forth.

Why are you so excited about his injury?

This secondary is a mess!!!! But it’s good we picked up like 10 Dlinemen in FA and draft

We also drafted 3 DBs (Hairston, Strong & Hancock) and signed White, Jackson, and Forrest among others.

 Cmon! Ignore those facts!

Exactly! Also, the pass rush and secondary are deeply connected. If you have an effective pass rush and are menacing the QB most downs, it aids the secondary measurably.

Obviously, not great news.  Even if it's not serious, "walking gingerly" would seem to indicate there will at least be some recovery time involved at minimum.

We did draft 2 CB's.  Hopefully someone can step of if Tre misses significant time.

I'll add more facts.

We drafted 2 DT, 1 DE and signed Bosa at DE, but really no other DE or DT that could make the team

We then drafted 2 CB, 1 S/CB and signed 3 FAs who could make the team in White, Jackson and Forrest.  It seems to me we spent more draft and roster capital (and maybe cap space) on the D secondary than on the DL.

Yeah. Zero starters…..

Hairston may start and if White can comeback healthy he will start.  Forrest was also expected to compete for a starting S job, but it didn't work out.

Bosa is the only DL FA or Draftee set to start.  Sorry!

I really hate this one. Tre was the “feel good story” of our off season. Because it’s Tre and his history, I think I an even more anxious for an update on this injury than I was with Hairston.

And it happened on my birthday.  Ugh.
