Soooo, you are then agreeing that scouting reports aren't always accurate? So why are you basing your thoughts on a player based on a scouting report?

I dont understand this Cole Bishop injury narrative. He played in 16 games his one year. Sure he gets banged up during training camp but honestly who cares. That doesnt make you injury prone. You're only injury prone when you start missing games

If know you’re trying hard to catch me in a contradictory statement but if you read the post I said you should’ve referenced  Elam’s glowing scouting report showing how off these prognosticators can be.

There isn't trying to catch you anywhere. You quite literally said Max's scouting report said he couldn't tackle (or something along those lines) and I shared Tre White's pre draft scouting report which echoed the same. Meaning scouting reports can be wrong. 

 

You further cemented that by saying Elam had a very good scouting report but didn't pan out. So again, if you know scouting reports are not accurate, why are you judging how much you like a player by a scouting report?

Didn't Cole miss the Rams game and the 1st KC game?  He had a Shoulder injury, now its a Quad.  Cole missed all of Training Camp last year due to injury.  And is missing more Camp this season.  Next man up. Bills are rolling deep at most every position, with  hungry players eager to get Coles Reps.   Best ability is availability.

The specific concern is that McDermott himself has stated that MLB and safety are the two most difficult to learn positions in his defense and the two positions most crucial to success.

 

In addition McDermott himself has expressed frustration with Bishop.

 

Last year due to his training camp injury, Bishop got out of the gates slowly, took all season to catch up and only started 4 games.

 

This year Bishop was given the starting job and proceeded to again get hurt in training camp. He has missed two weeks of work and McDermott said the other day that the team is unsure of what Bishop is and isn't capable of.

What’s your point besides rejecting my opinion. Give it up, time to let the player show up or be pedestrian for 4 years. What I think is message board fodder.

Hancock's ascendancy was addressed in today's The Athletic column by Joe Buscaglia:

 

"Near the conclusion of training camp practices at St. John Fisher University, fifth-round rookie defensive back Jordan Hancock spent all his time at safety. The Bills had explained it as a matter of numbers, as starters Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop had missed time due to injuries. That carried into the first preseason game, where neither starting safety played, opening the door for an impressive full-time debut at safety by Hancock.

It feels incredibly notable that during the joint practice with the Bears, Hancock remained a full-time safety despite Rapp and Bishop appearing close to returning. Hancock lined up beside Damar Hamlin for most of practice with the second unit and even subbed in on the first-team defense when the Rapp and Bishop duo needed a few rest reps. The rookie Hancock seems to have clearly passed veteran Darrick Forrest, too.

Hancock has been an ascending player at safety since it recently became his default position. The Bills said this week they hadn’t decided on Hancock’s position, but how they used him, with everyone they had available, sure seems like a loud statement."
