But the Tre White "issue" is real. he is very lucky Nabers wasn't playing. He won't be able to cover good WR's and it showed yesterday. He plays waaaayyy to off and laxed. We will see I guess. We need Max back and fast!

 

Benford and Hairston are our boys. Just need Max to heal up.

he probably didn’t want to go to a camp.   I don’t think he adds a single thing to the team just like I didn’t think he did last year.  Giving up a 3rd round pick for him was a, “GOB’S voice”…huge mistake.

 

 

At this point I can't say you are wrong. I supported that trade and the Kelvin Benjamin trade at the time. Neither worked out but in the moment I thought Beane made good moves. 

No idea what the issue is with Cooper. Maybe he is just done, but he had a 200 yard receiving just game 18 months ago.

It’s hard to say this without knowing what the coverage asked him to do.

For those that are interested, someone told me today Rasul Douglas is PFF top 8 CB in the league, while Tre is one of the worst.

As I posted weeks ago, he was the guy to bring back when Hairston went down.

Well for whatever PFF says he's giving up a QB rating over 100 and people are catching 2/3 rds of the passes thrown their way when he's covering and that's healthy as far as I know.  Just checked White.  Better QB rating (barely), 4 yards less per completion, but a higher completion percentage.

Thanks! I'd still swap 6th for a 7th and Douglas if the Dolphins would do it. Then let White retire during the bye week.

Douglas was toast last year. I am confident we are better now.

The Forum needs a scapegoat. It was Bishop before. Now it’s White. The issue is much more complex IMO

Tre White at this point just doesn’t have what he used to, and after the injuries he’s had that’s not surprising. He was never the preferred option until Hairston went down. I think Hairston is still a while off from playing, too. 
 

I do expect the pass rush/DL to improve after the Bye with Oliver, the PED brothers and Sanders getting either healthy or off the suspension lists, which will help the coverage and the LBs.

 

It’s a long season, and no team is going to win them all. Left some stuff out there against NE. Learn from it and move on.

Maybe give it another week to see where Samuel and Hairston are in their recovery and hope that White looks better next week.

Obviously an overreaction to a tough loss. Douglas has been abused mercilessly in Miami and Cooper wanted too much to be just OK. That’s the reason he retired because no team wanted him for big money. Samuel was a healthy scratch the first 3 games, and now he is playing. Can we give Brady a chance to carve out a roll for him. It’s like the team is 1and 4. Palmer is fine and will be productive going forward. Our problem was our run first offense got shut down and we lost the turnover battle when Josh forced a few throws. Our secondary made Diggs look like a HOF player and we lost on the last possession. Don’t try and reinvent the wheel.

Just wanted to make sure you saw where the OP had recently stopped back in (a month after this thread had mercifully died) just to remind us that Rasul Douglas is a Top 10 CB while Tre White is one of the worst in the NFL

I dont disagree with anything you said except -  It’s like the team is 1-4. An issue with the personnel on the team is relevant regardless of their record. If the Bills win that game in OT, White still is terrible. If the Ravens had blocked that FG they would be 3-2 and second place in the AFC East. Either way the WR group can't seperate from anybody and there are big issues to deal with on defense. 

However reinforcements are on the way. Get Hairston, Oliver, and Hoecht back should make a difference.  We have to hope that Oliver actually comes back and plays ok. His history is that when playing with an injury he is mostly a nonfiction. Hoecht is probably going to bring some much needed energy to the DL.

and at this point Strong and even Ingram may be better than White.

Disappointed that we have not seen much of Palmer after 5 weeks.
