Allen2Moulds Posted August 28 Posted August 28 For those that say that he isn't worth it. I really hope and pray when we play the likes of Mahomes and Burrow in the playoffs, they don't have all day to throw. Quote
thenorthremembers Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Old takes exposed. I didn't think Jerry was this stupid. Quote

gobills404 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I just realized all of a sudden Parsons is overrated and I never wanted him in the first place. 1 Quote

They didnt just give up 2 firsts and a player, they also paid him $47m a year, that is a ton of cap space we dont have and franchise QB money for a guy who wont impact a game nearly as much as a franchise QB Edited August 29 by Alphadawg7 1 Quote

I never said I'd make the trade for us but feel the Packers made a great move for their team. Quote

I never said I'd make the trade for us but feel the Packers made a great move for their team. Yeah they had a much different cap situation - so I get why they did it. But I see a lot of people on here thinking that was super cheap and we should have made the trade. So I was just saying that its more than the compensation for the trade, its affording the insane contract. Personally, if you are going to pay a non-QB that kind of money, they better be god tier and have such an impact they can be attributed to several more wins a year. Micah isn't that guy, he is the modern day Derrick Thomas - a sack specialist who doesn't provide much to the defense outside that. And while I would love him on the team, he is no Myles Garret. I would rather have a Chris Jones than a Micah Parsons who also rubs people the wrong way reportedly too in the locker room with his off field public antics with his podcast and stuff. Micah is an elite pass rusher, but he isn't some god tier player worth what he just got IMHO - and they also gave up 2 firsts and a good player. TBH - I may be in the minority, but I think Dallas did this right. Dallas wasn't going to win it all with Micah, their defense sucks becuase they got a one trick pony star up front in Micah and CB who is flashy for INTs but gets torched a lot because he cares more about the INT than making the best play and gambles too much. Those were about to be their 2 highest paid players, and having them at their best hasn't resulted in their defense being much at all. Dallas gets rid of what would have been a massive cap anchor, gets back a good player and 2 firsts for a team thats been towing the line of needing a mini retool/rebuild for several seasons now because its not working as assembled. And the only reason they haven't is Jerry is so desperate to win again before he dies, he keeps trying to force the square peg in the round hole trying to keep contending fearing the time to retool. They had to give up two firsts and a boatload of money to pay him for a guy who doesn't stop the run lol He is dynamic he is 100% not Bruce Smith or Reggie White and certainly not Lawrence Taylor He doesn't want to stop the run you run it at him and he literally will not play the whole game.. he will basically take the day off He's a third and long pass rush specialist... Spencer Brown will make him his b**** Edited August 29 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

Yeah, it would’ve been steep, but worth the swing for me. We already have the franchise QB. He needs help and the defense typically wilts in the biggest games, failing to get home. Parsons would’ve solved that for us and then some. For years we’ve lacked a legit answer to our pass rush. Sick of watching Mahomes prance around untouched or unfazed in the biggest games. Quote

Spencer Brown will make him his b**** I realize it’s a bit cavalier, but it’s not my money. Figure it out (Beane). Tired of a middling d-line. As of today, I’d give up anyone on this team not named Josh Allen for an elite pass rusher. RE: the Bruce Smith and Reggie White comparisons, we obviously have the benefit of hindsight and those guys are hall of famers, so it’s a bit unfair to compare two of the best ever to a guy a few years into his career. That said, what if I told you Parsons is only 26 years old, played only 4 seasons, and already has over 1/4 (52.5) of Bruce Smith’s career NFL record 200 sacks (accumulated over 19 years)? Bruce Smith is my favorite Bill of all time, and Parsons has a long way to go to sniff that record, but he’s on his way to a hall of fame career if he stays healthy, and a guy you absolutely take a swing at if given the opportunity.
