Do you recall how we completely neutralized the Dallas D (and Parsons) by simply running straight at them?

1. He’s better against the run than you think.

2. That cowboys team sucked.

3. It’s the GM & coaches job to get players and scheme to stop the run and complement Parsons because he’s an all world talent at pass rushing which is 1000x more important than an edge that plays the run.

I agree that Jerry is a clown but haven’t ever seen him laying on a table during a game.

its after the games he lays on the "training " Table

You're proving the wrong point.

The issue with that Dallas D in 2023 wasnt Parsons. It was their 2 LBs who were even smaller and lighter than Bernard and Dorian Williams.

With those small LBs, the Bills only had to gameplan around Parsons. So we either ran right at him with an extra blocker (and sometimes 2 extra blockers). Or ran completely away from him and could leave him unblocked since we were going so far away from him.

Parsons was the only player that actually mattered that game.

Bro, that's your beef? His 5 minutes on a training table during a horrible preseason game, while the owner ***** him around on his contract?

I already made that call.

We have the same #

But offer remains open.

Of course this is all fantasy. jerry is going do jerry and Micah is going to be wasted sitting on the Cowboys bench for at least another year.

just my opinion

I was hoping McBeane were going to go all Von Miller this offseason , what with all the serious DE pass rushers on the market or potentially on the market

If it was me , I might have swung big in FA. Parson was not my favorite , but his age would make for a nice 5 year deal

You are correct.  Jerry, being an awful human who has let his ego and age distort himself into believing his own bull#### will massively overpay and Micah will be a paid cowboy in a team that will always at best be a fringe playoff team because of overpays such as this

He’s been a reputed malcontent since his days at Ped State.

I get that you don’t like Jerry but he did state that he is willing to make Parsons the highest paid/guaranteed non QB in league history.  I’m not sure it’s a one way street.  Parsons’ agent has been fired by another prominent player….forgot who maybe Higgins…..and then a deal got done.

You are taking jerry's word for that ?

the guy is all about handshakes deals

If true he would have been paid

Lol, no.

We ran STRAIGHT AT PARSONS.

I don’t have the statistic at the top of my tongue anymore, because it’s been a few years, but if you’d like me to prove you wrong, i’m happy to dig it up. But it was something like we ran to Parsons side, or Parsons hole, 70%+ of the time.

We were running straight at Parsons. Non stop.

That’s exactly the way I remember it. Just go straight at him and you have an advantage.

Yep. Over and over and over again.

Its a fair assessment .

But wow can he pass rush and disrupt any play or what

Aaaand All Teams account for him every single time.

Not sure where you received your information about his malcontent at PSU. I actually work here & I have no recollection of anything negative when it comes to Parsons.
I’m ok with you not wanting him because of cost or maybe not being as talented as you’d like, but questioning his character shouldn’t be your basis for not wanting him. From what I know of him, he’d buy into McDs process.

Sitting out the COVID year was strange.  But other than that, I agree - he created no chaos at penn state.   He did hurt OSU a bit in recruiting though.

Ok, here's a condensed game video. First good footage I could find. While certainly not complete, you'll see that almost run on this tape in our first 3 drives went away from Parsons. Leaving him largely unblocked, we sent bodies left at those small LBs. And then when we do run right, we send bodies towards Parsons.

I'm sure this link will give me that dumb "Video unavailable" message, but check it out. It's a fun game anyways. (And a great Cook highlight film)

I'm not going to argue he's great or even good against the run. Dont get me wrong. My point was that the LBs were the bigger weakness, and where we game planned towards them because they were bad, when we game plan towards Parsons it's because he's a good player.

Very cool.

The Pats played a game where they threw the ball 3 times and beat us.

Does everyone on our defense suck?

ENOUGH with Micah Parsons and his run defense. Again, we’re not losing playoff games because we can’t stop the run. Parsons is 2nd best in the ENTIRE LEAGUE at doing what we struggle to do - pressure and sack the QB. It would be a blessing if he was a Buffalo Bill. As Leodis McKelvin used to say, “point blank, period!”

Yeah, but is he good enough against the run? 😈
