Massive Quake (8+) hits off Kamchatka, Russia

The biggest quake on earth  since 2011 (Fujiyama?) hit in the Pacific off Kamchatka in Russia at about 4:45 PM EDT. No details yet but tsunami warnings issued for Hawaii for 7 PM Hawaii time (1  oe 2 AM EDT?).

It was a sneaky good holding in the game Risk,  but that is another issue.

So apparently this was 2 years ago?  But the same place as the earthquake.  
 

They posted it yesterday so lots of accounts saying that just happened.  Crazy.

My family in Hawaii said they had 3 ft waves. Comparable to a windy day at the beach.

It doesn't surprise me it was here. That peninsula has the highest number of volcanoes and volcanic activity on earth.

Used to go over it and the city of Petropavlovsk all the time on the way from the US to Tokyo.

They have tones of geysers and other stuff that indicates really active sub surface stuff.

Weird area.

I tell ya. California is overdue for a major 7+ magnitude earthquake. The amount of pressure being released on the Pacific Rim and being built up on the US West Coast is crazy.
