ColoradoBills Posted July 27 Posted July 27 With Shavers down for a while Shenault ought to get some decent reps. Knox needs to stay healthy and perform well when playing. I just don't know what his future holds. Quote

I wanted Shenault so bad back in 2020 and thought he could be the ultimate “gadget guy.” His first two years were pretty good but he fell off a freaking cliff once he was traded to Carolina. It’s crazy how much can change in 5 seasons Quote

It’s crazy how much can change in 5 seasons It is strange that after he was traded to Carolina and then in Seattle and LA he was hardly ever used. But when he was, he pretty much caught everything thrown at him. He will be interesting to watch during the summer. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/ShenLa00.htm Quote

Just like Percy Harvin he just isnt a great route runner and that matters a lot in the NFL (I know different types of players -Harvin was incredible once he got the ball but was rarely healthy). Sure they could use him in a variety of ways but there are other guys on the team good enough for that role. Quote

Most likely more. 8 minutes ago, Ayjent said: Seems like a guy that thrives on short passing game and I can see why Seahawks wanted him bc he compliments Geno's dink and dunk passing, but i think the bottom line is he just isnt that good of a receiver. But at his age he is probably looking for one last decent sized signing bonus. Maybe Buffalo meets him half way and they lower the price but make the first two years fully guaranteed. After Allen, Knox and Cook are my favorite players and decent chance both will be gone next season. 1 Quote
BuffBillsForLife Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Isn't Knox Josh's best friend on the team? His roster spot is ironclad. Quote

BigAl2526 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Being activated with training camp still young is more important to Shenault than Knox. Knox is pretty much a known quantity to the Bills. Half a dozen missed practices in training camp isn't going to make a huge difference. Shenault, on the other hand is going to have to scrape and claw his way to a roster spot. He is essentially competing for the sixth WR spot and there are several players ahead of him in the competition. Shavers and Hamler have both played pretty well and both have special teams value. One advantage that Shenault potentially has over the two of them is he has the skill set that would allow him to both return punts and kickoffs and function as a gunner in punt coverage. Hamler and Shavers are limited to one or the other, Hamler-returning punts and KOs and Shavers-punt coverage. Quote
