The Firebaugh Kid Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) One episode in and 1) Christen Harper (Goffs wife) is drop dead gorgeous. Lord God google her. 2) Burrows mid personality and smug demeanor make me so happy to have Josh. 3) Cousins is so “gosh darn dang it” corny. Edited July 13 by The Firebaugh Kid 1 1 1 Quote
YoloinOhio Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I just started it out of pure football withdrawal/desperation. Joe burrow and Kirk cousins are so boring they are making Jared Goff seem interesting 1 1 Quote
BillsFooteball Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I’m feeling the overall same sentiment. Anything football related I’m all in. These guys are like robots though talking. Cousins has the very dry dad joke humor. As boring as Joe is, he comes across as smug and unlikeable. Quote

Would like to hear everyone's thoughts on it or parts that stood out. The show follows Cousins, Goff and Burrow last year. Considering the stories of the Bengals, Lions and Falcons last year (and their QBs), I give it a 10/10 recommend you watch. I absolutely enjoyed it. I fell asleep for the last episode so I'll get to that tonight One that stood out for me, was what they showed during the Bills and Lions game last year. We were up 21-14 at half. They show and give audio at the start of the third quarter and it's Ben Johnson and Goff talking....(edit..it may have been late in the third they had this convo. I'll have to watch that part again) Either way, the conversation goes like this Johnson-so you know, we aren't running it the rest of the game. Goff-yeah I know and if they keep playing D like they did at the end of the half we are gonna smoke em Now, I think this goes into what has been spoke about on these boards. When we get a lead we just sit in a prevent type role and get smoked. It almost cost us in this game. The lions did whatever they wanted in the 2nd half and the game got a lot closer than it should have. Thankfully our offense didn't slow down either. . That said, we won. Should we continue with this strategy when we get up a few scores, or would you prefer more aggression when we have the other team one dimensional? I'm pretty sure the Lions would have liked to score before 1:41 left in the 3rd, instead of "punt" and "fumble". And that 3rd Q score was fluky AF - "wait, WHAT? he caught that?" I do grant you, we gave up 3 straight scores in the 4th. Totally changed my viewpoint of Dan Campbell and made me kind of sad they lost to the Commanders in the Division. 1 Quote

Rams had a good offense last year but it was not world beaters either and we made them look unstoppable. That was when the red flags came up for me. 1 1 Quote
blitzboy54 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Cousins being deeply religious while also using stem cells will never not be funny to me. I legitimately think he doesn't understand that he came off like a hypocrite. 1 2 2 Quote

There are adult stem cells in a number of tissues including bone marrow Adult stem cells can be reprogrammed to become more pluripotent Stem cells are harvested perinatally (after birth) from cord blood - it's a routine question "are you willing to donate blood from the umbilical cord?" after birth when the baby and mom no longer have a use for it He's only a hypocrite if he's using embryonic stem cells and I'm not aware of any medical treatment that uses them, because of the ethical controversies 4 Quote

Chuck Schick Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I was really hoping that Cousins or his wife would say something like “Hey…we still have $100m guaranteed coming in” when he got benched. Which I THINK any normal human would do?? But maybe when you get to that level your thinking changes? Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) I'm 2 episodes in. Love it. I'll always watching any of these shows that give us Behind the Scenes glimpses into the lives of pro athletes, and especially the in-the-building football aspect of it. Cousins is a cornball, but I do think he is genuinely a good dude. And a hell of a competitor. I can respect all that. Burrow is a weirdo, but he owns it and embraces it. I can respect that. I prefer Josh to him, but I like that Joe isnt just another cookie-cutter QB "personality" The Goff storyline is obvious. Great resiliency, and we should all be able to appreciate anyone who can fight through that and come out successful. Plus, as others have pointed out, he has the hottest wife of any of the pro athletes that have been on any of these shows. More screentime for her please. Looking forward to getting through the rest of the episodes and then Hard Knocks to follow. I'm predicting the entire first episode is about Josh's wedding. Edited July 14 by DrDawkinstein 1 2 Quote

They seem to have similar DNA 1 Quote
