This is the 1st sentence in that story.

Terron Armstead’s decision to retire from the NFL two months ago was about more than just normal wear and tear after 12 years of professional football.

I'm assuming you didn't click the link.

No, I didn't. I just saw the post and thought, "didn't this happen a while ago"? I don't know how clicking on the post or not matters. The title of the post was simply "Terron Armstead retires" before OP changed it.

well if it was you…

It seems a lil more than just a sore knee-

I literally couldn’t walk. After a game on Sunday, I wouldn’t be able to walk on my own, under my own power, until Wednesday, Thursday. So I was only able to play under the pain meds. I couldn’t put any pressure on my knee, so it was like, I can’t keep doing that to myself.”

That's about every lineman over the age of 30 on Mondays.

"The Frightening Reasons!" from the NY Post qualified as clickbait, imo.

This is why I always get annoyed when people are like “football players aren’t tough anymore! They used to really hit!”

yeah and they all die young or can’t walk for the rest of their life. It’s a game, I’d rather be entertained and know everyone is ok when they decide to hang it up

Jim Otto (Raiders # 00) lived to a nice old age but had to use the arm braces to walk for years.
