The conversation that sent Beane was Jeremy telling Sal he was going to ask Beane why he undervalues wr compared to the rest of the league.   Beane didnt see value in the draft and brought in the best available FA instead.  Good business.

Jeremy's argument of getting cheap labor by drafting every year or two at the position has its validity too.

He's got some skill. I he does bring some nice speed. Good depth and an able spot starter should injury strike.

I would hope Laviska rented and didn't purchase something.

I could see shenault still making the team. He can be wr 6, punt returner, kick returner. He offers way more value than codrington does as solely a PR (he provides nothing at corner and they pulled him from KR later in the year last year

“We felt that defense was a bigger and more immediate need heading into the draft and with the way the board fell, we also felt the value wasn’t there at receiver when we were picking.  But we’re always looking to make our team better and we’ll be open to adding more talent at the receiver position before training camp.”

I still want more wide receivers

For what to pay them some amount of signing bonus so they can be cut the end of August.    Barring an injury the five listed below are all on the team.  Add in two TE's who even though Kincaid didn't live up to expectations last year are still threats that need too be taken seriously and need to be game planned for.  Also have RB's that can catch passes and can run the ball behind a very effective O-line.

Teams with star QB's don't need star WR's as they QB can make the WR look much better than they really  are.

Coleman
Palmer

Shakir
Samuel
Moore

Shenault

Shavers

I think that's a reasonably well rounded, diverse top five, with the bottom three guys battling it out for an end-of-roster and special teams spot. Short of having a legitimate WR1, I like the group.

If Coleman looks like the guy he was in the first half of last season and Samuel looks like the guy he was in the final few weeks, it could be a very respectable group indeed.

Don't make me say it, but....okay okay, I'll say it...

The WR room quietly got better today.

Welcome Elijah.  His wife must have liked Buffalo...  but then again, who doesn't???

Now we all need to work on Stephanie LaChance (Mitch Marner's wife) ......Josh and Hailee are key to this one.  Gotta get this young man on the Sabres.

I think the Sabres need to do an offer sheet. Screw the Laffs!

He just took a WR last year with his first pick. Regardless of what everyone thinks of that pick (too early to know his true value to the team), it was a WR on a rookie deal drafted high

We don't know what the money is yet. "Up to" is a classic red herring. Claypool got $1.135M from us. I would guess Moore is around $2.5M. Marginally more expensive but definitely getting paid like the low probability reclamation project that he is. Like I said I'm fine with it, I think he is better than his competition in the room.

I would assume he is getting at least 3.5 guaranteed. When the browns put the tender on him that guaranteed him 3.43 million from them for this season. I doubt he would sign for less than that

And that folks is Beanes FU to all of us that complained about WR during the draft. 🤣

And he’s fast so the complaining that he only likes slow guys is also on ice.

Good wr’s generally are still very good with bad to average qb play.

I disagree.  Elite WRs are generally very good with bad to average QB play.

Not exactly sure how a good WR can become a very good WR if they have a bad/average QB.

I hear you. I doubt Beans decisions have anything to do with those clowns opinions.  He’s probably more pissed at the incessant negativity they put on the team like some posters on here. It gets old and it’s not an intelligent way to discuss the team.

That I totally agree with. I think it was more the fact that they don’t see the good that he does. And there’s a ton of good. And I’m stoked about this signing. This kid is gonna surprise a lot of people.

Absolutely love it. The kid has real talent. Blessing to get somebody like that at this stage in April.

It’s straight up hypocritical. Just be real, the board didn’t fall the way you thought it would. Maybe he was frustrated they didn’t get a receiver too….

Its hilarious to me. As if it was intentional in the interviews. If so its Epic work by Beane

Think he was on speed dial for a month or more.

You don’t guarantee anything publicly for the sake of some radio host
