What is tough to say? That Lamar isn't a first ballot hall of famer? I think that's almost certain at this point

The AP is telling everyone that Lamar is better than Montana.

That's fundamentally what they're saying

More ironic, they're saying he's better than mahomes...

You figure it out. Because I can't

Lamar just had a PR year of 119, it’s really tough to compare against the 04 Manning 20/11 Aaron and now 24 Lamar numbers.

Rodgers had much fewer regular season turnovers, but everything else is comparable. Especially playoffs

I don't care so much about what they're saying about Lamar tbh. I like Lamar.

It's what they refuse to acknowledge about Allen that I don't understand. It seems impossible to have the kind of production he does and nothing to show for it.

After 7 seasons he had 18 TD and 15 INT's in the playoffs. His Super Bowl Year he had 3 TD's and 7 INT's. His first 6 years they went 3-6 losing his first playoff game 4 times.

Did he get it together later? Sur, somewhat. Never even close to his regular season level.

Are you doing his career or first 7 years?

In his first 7 Years he had 3 all time playoff games.

Again he beat Brady and was 3-2 in the playoffs vs Brady

He went to 4 Superbowls

I think his historic turnover numbers hurt him, perhaps playing in the AFC East too.

if he could avg 34 , 6 and 4k yards he might be better viewed.

Yes he was. Go look up his 4th, 5th and 7th playoff game m they're transcendent.

It's revisionist history to say he was bad in the playoffs. It's not only not true, it's again the opposite

I grew up watching him just like you did. He had an atrocious start to his career, got better later, had some excellent games. All said, fair below his regular season pedigree.   He literally has as many games he was directly responsible for losing as winning. Playoff hero, he is not.

So what is Allens record vs Mahomes in the playoffs? Does that tell the whole story for that comparison?

I like the added pressure to Lamar. He has shown to be unable to handle the playoff expectations especially with the added accolades. Josh elevates his game in the postseason.

It's a fair comp if Lamar ever does win the Super Bowl.

Manning had transcendent playoff games earlier in his career

This is the opposite for Lamar

Peyton Manning in his 4th playoff game. Lots of revisionist history and gaslighting going on

2003 colts vs chiefs division Rd. Manning was like Allen and basically perfect.

He played well in 3 of his first 13 games in that image. Time has clouded your judgement.

Allen already has more playoff PASSING tds than rivers had in his entire career....

Rivers also was never even 2nd team All Pro. Allen has two. Rivers was never really a top 3 QB at any time. Allen is inarguably a top 3 QB cumulatively over the past 5 seasons and also within individual seasons.

I don't think Josh has a problem keeping his TDs up considering what he's done over the last 5 years.

I understand I'm just feeding the troll here, but in the last 5 years, Josh has had 215 TDs.

Lamar has had 145 TDs.

Cleaning up the turnovers is something Allen has really reined in.  Still, since 2020, Allen has only had 23 more turnovers than Lamar.

Which is more impressive?  Lamar having 23 fewer turnovers than Allen in the span of 5 years or Allen having 70 more TDs in the span of 5 years?

Sorry everyone... I know I fed the Troll

Yeah Lamars pounding of the Steelers didnt happen until Henry started to take over in that game.  His pounding was 15 completions that his receivers got over 200 yards on because they were so wide open due to the Steelers not being able to stop Henry.  That is Lamars typical game. Teams focus Henry because they can't stop him. Lamar gets easy passes because the receivers arent covered.

All hail Lamar and his tough throws after Henry marches all over the field. Score was 17-17 towards the end of the 3rd quarter. Game got away from the Steelers. Lamar wasn't anything special.

Not to mention the Ravens got a pick-6 that blew it wide open. The Ravens are front runners and don’t play as well if you can keep it close or get a lead.

One of the things I am seeing among most MVP's is great stats and they are assisted by a great WR and good supporting cast.  Lamar this year has2 WR with the best separation in the world and a HOF RB putting up HOF numbers this year.

Allen still needs his " Marvin Harrison " like Manning had.

I also think we need to start seeing some 4500 yard seasons with 40+ PASSING TD's and less than 10 picks like Rogers has had.  For all Allens talents he still cant do that for some reason
