So… what led you to make this bold claim?

Was it the 7 page thread I created on the topic a week ago?

Β

If we're going to ignore the 7 page thread I made on this exact same topic a week prior to this one, can we at least merge the two?

We tend to go in circles here

Β

A lot of the same stuff is in the Edmunds draft replacements thread. It's all-inclusive.Β

Everyone likes Jack Campbell, and i do too, but hes the safe pick to replace Edmunds but Sanders is dynamic and can not only play off the ball and he can rush the passer and not just a blitzer but actually has pass rush moves.Β

Β

he could be our Lawrence Taylor instead of another Edmunds.

Β

And hes got that NASTY, which this team needs more of.

Β

Β

Β

McDermott likes Blitz so this would make sense. If Frazier here it would be Campbell.

Β

I say go 3-4 and get both. Move up 2nd round with your 2 and 3. We can address problems with UDF's and Vet's left over.

Β

Imagine NT Philips (backup Settle), DE Oliver, JonesΒ  (Basham, Epensa backup), also have Bryant

Β

Outside LinebackerΒ  - Vonn , RousseauΒ  (Sanders rookie backs up but spells Vonn a lot)

Β

Inside LinebackerΒ  - Milano, Campbell ( Benard, Dodson, Spector backup )

Β

Have to draft Campbell, size is what you need. You can get any number of Blitzers but love Sanders too.

Β

Linebacker can still come out on 3rd and long for Nickle and Vonn goes to defense line for 4-3 hybrid. DT then are Philips, Oliver with Vonn, Rousseau. Milano, Sanders stay in and add Rapp as Linebacker or your nickle corner.

Β

Imagine the confusion LB or Safety Blitz from anywhere any down. Having a 3-4 allows this with Two big NT which we have and two big DE's.

Β

Our Saftey position and CB's are strong, with Rapp added and Neal with two big Safeties (LB's)

Β

Epensa can go to ILB too if needed against run teams to keep fresh. Imagine Epensa and Campbell inside sometimes and Vonn (Sanders) Milano outside. Who's gonna run against that????

Β

Draft Sanders 27 and go up and get Campbell early 2.

We dont have a traditional MLB, but two LBs that play sideline to sideline.

Β

Β

Β

Β

Β Because he can rush the passer too

Β

Β

Vonn is our LT

Of course we talk in Circles, not going to read Thread pages 1-10 when there are 18.

Also some Threads are around awhile and things change. Shouldn't be living your life on a Community Board.

Actually Campbell tackles better, faster cone movement, bigger. Rated the Best "Athletic" LB. Doesn't need break way speed at Middle linebacker. He is SMART and can make the call, defend the run plus drop back. He is what Edmunds wasn't. Not knocking Sanders but he is more risk cause your NOT sure his tackling will get better, did Edmunds?

I will be writing off any notion of winning a SB if we blow a 1st round pick on a LB. There's plenty of LB talent to be had on day 2.

Beane intentionally fills Roster with players that can play if needed in Free Agency. He the Drafts his Board "Best Player Available by NEED

Β

We NEED LB, don't lose your 2018 1st round guy you move up to get by replacing with Medicore Talent your not SURE of from last year.

Β

That means Beane will draft ILBΒ  1 or 2 unless he trades for someone like Queen in Baltimore.

Β

How did Evans, Watkins work out 1st round WR's. Not often WR's work in 1st year.

Β

How about Tackles, got Ford, Mike Williams thought to be sure hits, NOT

Β

More often Safties, LB's, CB's, guards, RB's are more sure things. Bills need there 1st two picks to PLAY this year, not developments.

Β

Bills can sign anyone available to Veteran minimums over almost every other TEAM because of JOSH. That is your draft now, 1 year minimum contracts till you find a fit.

Β

Low RISK and the players have NFL Tape.

Β

Your draft is to keep decent players minimum salary for 4-5 years.

Β

If you hit a home run, you may lose then to freeagency.

Β

Only keep maybe 10 top players now over 7 million. Our QB is 17% of salary cap, actually lowered to around 12% but that makes the next 5 years over 20%.

Β

You can't draft to develop 3-4 years from now except lower rounds. First two picks will have to play year 1 or 2 WELL!

This is a pretty comprehensive board with great conversation. I like reading other people’s ideas and sharing my own. JMO. To me a thread on page 2 isn't old, but hey everyone has a different opinion! All good

He won't be there, I wouldn't think. Thought we were gonna take him in the 2nd. Glad we didn't now because I love the guard from Florida we took.Β
