That is your draft now, 1 year minimum contracts till you find a fit. Low RISK and the players have NFL Tape. Your draft is to keep decent players minimum salary for 4-5 years. If you hit a home run, you may lose then to freeagency. Only keep maybe 10 top players now over 7 million. Our QB is 17% of salary cap, actually lowered to around 12% but that makes the next 5 years over 20%. You can't draft to develop 3-4 years from now except lower rounds. First two picks will have to play year 1 or 2 WELL!

Actually Campbell tackles better, faster cone movement, bigger. Rated the Best "Athletic" LB. Doesn't need break way speed at Middle linebacker. He is SMART and can make the call, defend the run plus drop back. He is what Edmunds wasn't. Not knocking Sanders but he is more risk cause your NOT sure his tackling will get better, did Edmunds?

No rookie in this draft class is beating out Sherfield, Shakir, Harty or Davis. Even if drafted 1st round, McDermott doesn't view Rookies that way unless a MUST. We have plenty of WR options, speed and run after the catch. Also proof what we have can play in NFL except for really Shakir. Shakir has a year in NFL though and knows now what it takes. Sherfield is the GUY. 6'1" fast, great hands and can run after the catch. He will be Hybrid slot/long WR that Andre Reed was. That also will free Diggs long cause the best CB will be on Diggs alone. Sherfield will get safety, have to watch cause of the run after catch. Shakir and Davis will fight for WR three. Harty will have WR4 no matter what, he is a smaller but faster Sherfield and will reek havoc like Hill on the field. People are underestimating what Beane has done here. All 3 RB's have speed and can take it to the Top. So can Sherfield, Harty and Shakir. With the Middle shored up, Josh can deliver quick screens, Tackles are good enough to HOLD for 3 secs.

Bills in the 90's always had great Safeties and Nickles. Bills to date just got two great CB's possible. few teams can pay for two Top CB's. No difference except use of running back. Bills had Reed, Lofton, Beebe outside. TE's, McKellar and Metzelaars. Add Thomas, that TEAM would destroy today's defenses. Kelly would use Thomas screens and draws cause no one could stay in the box with WR/TE talent. Cut back runner is the key, can't tackle Thomas in the open. Stout enough to run inside for 4 yards. One of the best ever catch RB's too. Tied Jim Brown years in a row all Purpose Yards in NFL. Now, Josh is a different breed than anyone but maybe Elway early on. But even Josh is a much better Athlete. Young and Mahomes a lot alike. You have to incorporate running game. You get up, you need to run out the clock and maintain possession. Bad weather, need to RUN. Team with good pass defense, need Play Action, screens. Bills are set up for this now with Cook/Harris. Let's see how SMART Dorsey is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not saying get rid of him but Shakir and the two other WR's picked up should be complete open competition for 2,3,4. Shakir, Harty, Sherfield offer run after catch too. I see Sherfield winning this out after Miami campaign. The end, I see Diggs, Sherfield as main guys with Shakir at Slot. Davis in on run downs to block as number 2 guy. Going deep, Harty comes in slot 3rd and long with TE out there. We have SPEED now in WR's and RB's. Teams will not be able to pack 8 in box anymore. Look for a lot more inside plays with many more run after catch TD's

McDermott likes Blitz so this would make sense. If Frazier here it would be Campbell. I say go 3-4 and get both. Move up 2nd round with your 2 and 3. Imagine NT Philips (backup Settle), DE Oliver, Jones (Basham, Epensa backup), also have Bryant Outside Linebacker - Vonn , Rousseau (Sanders rookie backs up but spells Vonn a lot) Inside Linebacker - Milano, Campbell ( Benard, Dodson, Spector backup ) Have to draft Campbell, size is what you need. You can get any number of Blitzers but love Sanders too. Linebacker can still come out on 3rd and long for Nickle and Vonn goes to defense line for 4-3 hybrid. DT then are Philips, Oliver with Vonn, Rousseau. Milano, Sanders stay in and add Rapp as Linebacker or your nickle corner. Imagine the confusion LB or Safety Blitz from anywhere any down. Having a 3-4 allows this with Two big NT which we have and two big DE's. Our Saftey position and CB's are strong, with Rapp added and Neal with two big Safeties (LB's) Epensa can go to ILB too if needed against run teams to keep fresh. Imagine Epensa and Campbell inside sometimes and Vonn (Sanders) Milano outside. Who's gonna run against that???? Draft Sanders 27 and go up and get Campbell early 2.

Bills could do a 3-4 with Philips at nose and Oliver, Jones DE LB's then are OL - Vonn, Rousseau with ILB - Milano, Epensa (passing downs Benard). Basham stays at DE backup. Backup nose is Settle Bryant That would force us drafting backup OLB, DE. Still have Benard, Spector inside LB backups

You left out Philips, he knows how to run the 3-4. Ted Washington NT #1 defense. You need the NT and great linebackers for 3-4. we lost 4 SB's because Bills got rid of Smerlas for Wright a 265 lb NT. Walt Corey should have been fired after the 1st. Same problem a Frazier, bend but don't break. Problem with that is OJ Anderson ran 10 mins out of 2nd half and Kelly had only 19 minutes of offense, lose 19-21 not because we missed FG because we couldn't stop an under average RB. Not without a Ted Washington or Bruce Smith

We don't play a 3-4 so no nose tackle. DT's are 1 or 3 technique at line. Some of our DE's can come in on passing downs so Oliver isn't really needed. Was hoping a Trade with Baltimore for Queen for Davis. Baltimore got Beckham but still need a blocking WR which Odell is not. That would leave us room to get a DT in draft. Our 3 biggest needs right now are OT (swing), DT for next year, ILB. Not sure draft will lineup 1,2,3 for us on these positions unless you go small school on draft.
