I don't think Pegula gets over 15% of the cost. The majority of Tpegs contribution is coming from an NFL loan that will be paid back by PSL's (so not actually Pegula's money).

it is Pegs money. Any PSL belongs to Pegs. They are contributing it to the stadium. Pegs are contributing large sum off the bat plus paying 50 mill for demo of old Highmark. Plus responsible for all cost overruns. Plus money NFL is putting in was paid in by all teams including Bills over the years. A use it or lose it scenario.

 

If you want to play allocation game with NFL money then we will also with Senneca Nations casino money that is footing all of the state contribution. Another use it or lose it to NYC scenario.

 

bottom line is Pegs is responsible for over 50% of cost when all is said and done. Not as bad a deal as some want to make it out to be. Lucas Oil and Chicgao was all tax funded. TN new digs well over 50% tax funded. Similar to Vegas too.

for the record i am in favor of no tax subsidies for stadiums or private business building. But efforts to pass those have failed. Until it is stopped for all private entities like walmart superstores, civic center, arenas, tif districts, strip malls, theatres, etc etc... it is discrimination to deny Pro sports a piece of the pie.

Say what??? When you go to a movie or a restaurant did you have much say in what the building looked like? And yet, as a customer you pay the ENTIRE cost of the film or dinner.

That comparison makes no sense.

 

My money pays to see the movie that I chose. I didn’t pay for the building and then pay for the movie on top of it.

PSL’s only go the stadium. That’s why they exist. They were invented to pay for stadium building. They do not go into owners pockets.

Nope. That is NYS tax money. If it didn’t go toward the stadium, it would be earmarked for something else. The fact that it’s going toward the stadium means that taxpayers are paying for the full amount of whatever that Seneca money would have went to. Either way, taxpayers pay for it.

Pegs will end up paying around 10-15% of the total cost out of pocket.

So far, I don't like it. The outside shape appears warped and the over hang (seen from the inside) appears to be my grandpa's old tin fence 😀

You’ve got to be kidding….right? Who do you think pays for the movie theater? Santa Claus? Here’s a hint…you do! It’s built into the price of your ticket. The same is true of that power tool you bought at Home Depot. 
 

Not sure why you think the Bills need to please your specific needs. They conducted a community survey a couple of years ago to get GENERAL input. You’re not ordering a pizza here. But, with all of that said, if you prefer to sit under a cover, the new stadium will give you literally thousands of seats to choose from. How many seats are you planning on sitting in?

A couple things I’ve seen from the renderings:

* Why aren’t the cocktail servers in tuxedos and/or short dresses?

* I don’t see any fur linings on the seats for added warmth, why not?

* I understand we can’t have Marlboro as a sponsor on signs anymore, but why don’t they have Grey Poupon or Jaguar as sponsors surrounding the Jumbotron?

* Is there a reason why they don’t show individual tv screens on each seat back? 
* Can’t they design more legroom for fans? I would buy season tix if I could recline a little bit and kick my boots off. 
 

The design is vanilla. We need to improve it much more to attract real football fans.

What you’re seeing is the underside of the actual roof structure: painted steel beams and metal roof deck. It costs a lot of money to install a ceiling under that structure, but I tend to agree with your initial assessment. I actually thought they’d go with a translucent material as you see in the inner ring of the Tottenham roof….but oh well.

So here’s the thing. I’ve designed literally hundreds of publicly funded projects and not once did we ask every single person if they liked how it looked. Now, you’re more than welcome to express your opinion…seriously. But neither the Bills, nor the State/County are under any obligation to seek your approval on the aesthetics of the project.

I love your jokes Fergy. They are truly hilarious. Made me chuckle. Until the very end. When you said we need to improve it to attract real football fans. The fact is that with the prices of the new stadium, people that spend that kind of money will want some comfort. I’ve been to hundreds of games at RWS and I can say that I absolutely love my experiences there. And regardless what some here say, spending $8k a year on a pair of tickets for 8 games is too much. I suppose there are people that will pay for it. Of course they will. But the fact is that those people are not the same people that everyone thinks of when they talk about Bills Mafia. They are a whine and cheese crowd in the preferred Bills parking lots that pull into the lot at 11am with their Escalades and Navigators. That’s fine. And I’ll likely be buying seats in the new stadium in some capacity. But let’s not get it confused who the Bills are targeting with this new stadium. They say they want to keep it affordable for people in the area, and continue to have Bills fans attend games, all while pricing the vast majority of fans out right out of the blocks.
 

Which is what my issue is from the start. sure I can pay for tickets. But do I really want to spend $1000 every time I go to a game? Maybe if I wasn’t freezing my ass off while I was there it would make it easier to stomach that.

I think the bigger problem is what the majority would have wanted considering tax payer funds are paying for it. If Pegula would have built it himself then nobody has any argument in any of this. But it’s tax payer money and it feels like they shorted the tax payers on what we could have had for the money. But what am I thinking, expecting people in power in NYS care about their constituents.
