If they can nominate someone like DeSantis they have a good shot at the presidency in 2024. But a lot of their base is still obsessed with Trump. They've been choosing poor MAGA candidates in some primaries which has caused the GOP to lose seats they should have won in the general election. Lombardo over Sisolak has to be the biggest flip, and that’s at the Governor level… likely due to handling of covid in a heavy service sector state. About half of the GOP candidates running are either outright deniers or won’t publicly confirm that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen. Seems that Americans have mostly rejected them, which is good.
