What has me laughing my ass off about this disgraceful affront to freedom, democracy, and our constitutional system from our insane and demented President is how the media and the usual libertards are fawning all other the entire spectacle.  But imagine their horror if you sub out Trump for Biden, change out a few words and terms along with the targeted group of the rant.  The left and the media would be triggered to Defcon 5.  How could anyone disagree with that assessment?

“Libtards.” Are you 6 years old or just a boomer with a MAGA hat?

We obviously have a far from perfect political system.  We are perpetually left with the "lesser of two evils" scenario.  As many faults as Democrats have (and there are plenty), the party offers far more room for a difference of opinions from within.

I am 57.  In my lifetime I have never seen either party so afraid to cross their leader... these people, day after day, have to pledge their steadfast allegiance to this clown, or face the prospect of being "cancelled" by the cult that has taken over their party.  On paper, Liz Cheney was everything conservatives could want in a candidate.  She voted with Trump about 97% of the time. She would never have been considered a RINO at any other time.  But she was pretty much banished by her party, for the offense of simply recognizing Trumps obvious and blatant corruption.  The party could get all the same ***** stuff they want with a person like Cheney, but because she recognizes the reality of Trump, she has to go.

The Republican party has morphed into the party of Trump. The one person in GOP leadership that stuck to their core conservative principles got destroyed for it. There are no unifying principles in the Republican party, only fealty to Trump.  Biden's speech for as many crocodile tears as MAGAS, and right-wing pundits have been crying, was spot on.

Well, in a sense we agree on quite a bit.  We recognize the flaws in both parties.

I disagree that the Dems have more room for difference of opinion.  It appears to me that you have to dissent on any issue, you are labeled and rejected.  Maybe its just the extremists that make it appear that way.  The same argument could be made against the Right.  I suppose a lot depends on your view of the media.  I see them as painting an incorrect picture of conservatives.  Correct me if I am wrong, but approximately 90% of the media is controlled by the left, and by about a half dozen people/corporations, and they are pushing narratives as opposed to facts.  Or even flat out lying...unwittingly or not.  This is a real danger, and it is very lopsided.  We are also seeing a similar situation with academia.  I have two daughters in college and one in high school.  The influence on them is very evident.

All of us form opinions based on information.  If that information is incorrect, the basis of our opinion is then flawed.  When we can't trust the people delivering the information, that is a big problem.  It then begs the question, how do any of us know if we are right?

I think it was Morgan Freeman that said "if you watch the news you are misinformed, if you don't, you are uninformed".

I try to pan out and look at it from a world view, and what has happened historically.  When you see what is happening here, right now, and compare it to other nations in recent history, it paints a picture that many of us don't want to look at, but if we keep ignoring it, that is likely where we are heading.

This divide we are experiencing is 100% by design.

Another Biden backpedal indicates the ‘post-speech poll numbers must be BRUTAL’

The next day, not even 24 hours later, the backpedaling began. Also there was another Biden comment that Jesse Kelly spotted which spoke volumes about how the Biden White House knows the speech is being viewed:

If the backpedaling continues later, it probably won’t be until after the long weekend:

To assume the imagery was a mistake, or his rhetoric being walked back because it was unpopular is a huge mistake imo.

There are millions and millions of dollars spent on this sort of thing.  Speechwriters are trained in the best way to elicit emotion, engagement, disgust, suspicion, etc.  They are trained in psychology of speech delivery, tempo, building anticipation, the general ebb and flow of delivery.

There are experts galore looking at data, focus groups and general sentiment of prospective voters.  The photo of Biden above, looking like an enraged dictator and raising a call of action against the opposition, is anticipated, planned and expected.  There is an entire industry devoted to the significance of color choice, and they used it for desired effect.

Looking at the replies here, you see some Biden lifers speaking about the opposition as evil and deplorable.  They are the easiest to manipulate, and those that produced the speech may not know the, by name, they know them by predisposition.  Then you have the people pointing to the parts of the speech that are inane and innocuous, thinking of course, “What’s the harm in this?”.  The answer is “Nothing, but that wasn’t the overriding message delivered.”.   To draw a parallel, a person telling someone they like their haircut is nice, but in context, doing so after they punched them in the face 5 times makes you question the real message delivered.

Interestingly, you can see a cross section of typical replies of early Trump supporters here.  You recall them—those that didn’t alway like his rhetoric, didn’t always like his tone, but believed in the message he delivered.  Security at the southern border comes to mind.

Frankish, for example, seems content to tiptoe around the issue.  He mentioned earlier he didn’t like this sort of speech, then later on compared this very unquestionably divisive speech by any account to strategizing in a typical NFL game.  I suppose if the Dolphins defensive coordinator got a podium, a national audience and 24x7 coverage of everything he said and stated “The very existence of the Buffalo Bills and their fans pose a threat to our very way of life, and are coming for your soul”, I could see that parallel.

WASHINGTON EXAMINER: Biden’s Reichstag Blunder.

“President Joe Biden’s Thursday speech in front of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall would have been a disturbing abuse of presidential power had it not been so ineptly bungled in every phase of execution.”

Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f*ck things up. Unfortunately, those things include America.

You bring up a very good point. Speech writers are paid a lot of money and given a lot of free rein when designing a speech. They use words and optics to paint a picture and send a message.  I’m thinking the whole purpose of the rhetoric in this speech was to goad the right into doing something really stupid.  I’m thinking (and hoping) this backfires terribly.

You obviously know very little about me. Now on to my question you did a wonderful job of dodging.  Did our leader do anything to bring this country together (which we are in terrible need of) the other night and if so point to those parts of that speech.

Biden defined and identified the evil and rot in your party that is out to DESTROY OUR DEMOCRACY.

And it is clear a majority of Americans agree with Biden. We have had enough of the fascist authoritarian garbage and manufactured hate coming from the armpit of America.

Biden shined a red light on you cockroaches - and that is why you simps are so triggered.

You never blinked twice when Trump served up hate and divisiveness - you freaks actually cheered it on - and Americans responded by booting his arse out of the WH.

Democracy > your feelings

These things are as scripted and planned out as any big budget Hollywood production ever is.  In the calm light of day, analysis is simplified to the least common denominator of what Biden, Trump or whomever said.  It’s all designed to herd the simpleminded in one direction or another.

As for doing something stupid, you’re onto something.  Big picture, it’s not just the right you have to worry about.  It’s the left acting as if they are the right, and fundamentalist agnostics doing the same.

Let’s be fair—there are folks on this board, right now, who wailed about Putin’s Russian disinformation campaign now quoting and promoting stories from Putin’s Russian media outlets as gospel.  This is after their warning that Putin’s brand of Russian authoritarianism would spread on Trump’s watch….only to see it actually occur on Biden’s watch.

I had a specific focus here, watching certain Biden supporters who complained about Trump supporters becoming the mirror image of certain Trump supporters.
It’s interesting to see.

Stay tuned, you’ll get a mention before too long my friend.

WH Goes Into Full Gaslighting Mode When Asked if Joe Biden Needs to Apologize

By Nick Arama

As we reported, Joe Biden’s speech was so over the edge that it even prompted criticism from CNN. Although to be fair, they also softened the red lighting on the video feed as well, to try to make Joe’s backdrop look a little less evil. No one on the Biden team seemingly had enough sense to know how that would come across–on top of declaring millions of Americans essentially enemies of the state.

Even MSNBC grilled White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on it, asking if it was true what House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy said about Joe Biden owing “half the country an apology.”
