Like many businesses that collect a lot of data, Google has transformed into an information gathering service selling user data to public and private customers interested in user analytics and statistics by gathering information on the whereabouts and activities of users of its services and application on its app store. I occasionally go through my phone apps and set location services to "when in use" rather than "all the time".
