Russian 'troop build-up' near Ukraine alarms Nato

Russia has warned Nato against sending any troops to help Ukraine, amid reports of a large Russian military build-up on its borders.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would take "additional measures" if Nato were to make such a move.

US forces in Europe are now on higher alert, citing "escalations of Russian aggression" in the area.

Allies share their concerns about Russia's recent large-scale military activities in and around Ukraine," the official said.

The narrative of Putin puppet doesn’t add up. Why didn’t Russia just take Ukraine then, his asset would’ve allowed it, right?

Meanwhile China is really ratcheting up hostilities in the South China Sea, Taiwan is growing more concerned invasion plans are in the works, they made an interesting move sort of  ‘deputizing’ hundreds of fishing vessels that have anchored off of the coast of Taiwan.

I keep hoping the globe has evolved and integrated enough to where classical large scale war is untenable but that would be denying the power craving and ambition of the sociopaths that tend to run nations

We may evolved more than you think. There’s been hardly any major territorial shifts over the last century. The only significant one was the breakup of the Soviet Union and that happened without any substantial conflict or bloodshed. Yes, there’ve been some small border squabbles but that’s about it. As much as nobody likes to admit it, the nuclear threat has put an end to the vast majority of it.

In a little-noticed story that broke on Friday night, it was reported that Jennifer Davis, Chief of Staff to UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has been reassigned because her security clearance was revoked.

According to the Politico article, Davis is a career foreign service officer, having worked for 18 years in the State Department with previous assignments in Mexico, Turkey, and Columbia.

Quote

The decision to revoke Davis’s clearance came after a three-year administrative investigation conducted by the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, which conducts security background investigations to assess whether an individual should have access to classified information.

According to Politico, the issue involves an interview Davis gave to a reporter Amberin Zaman of the Middle Eastern-focused news outlet Al-Monitor.

This situation has given us one of the clearest examples of framing for materially similar actions by different presidents.

Would anyone look at these side by sides and think they were impartial and balanced?

Withdrawal From Afghanistan Timed to Humiliate US

by Michael Walsh

As if there were any doubts about the animosity directed by the Left against the United States of America, President Joe Biden’s announcement that all American troops will be withdrawn from George W. Bush’s ill-conceived and thoroughly wasteful war in Afghanistan by Sept. 11, 2021 finally ought to dispel them. Think they picked that date out of a hat? Think again. Thanks to Biden’s absurdly long position at the D.C. trough (he was first elected to the Senate in 1972), this president will now have the distinction of being in Washington for two of America’s greatest defeats

Pretty good week for Biden in foreign affairs

He is holding a global climate conference that has many of the world leaders engaged, including China, Russia and others petro states

On Russia he has had some very notable success. Putin blinked at the Ukraine border, pulling back 100,000 troops that had been stationed there in a threatening manner. Typical dictator threat of war when things were unraveling at home. And Putin main political rival  was allowed out of jail and sent to a hospital for treatment so that Putin could not slowly murder him. Protests are raging across Russia calling for the end for his kleptocratic rule. Seems, even the Trump model of corrupt government is under challenge in Russia

Thinking of the moment Chauvin was led away in handcuffs, wouldn't it be great to see Putin and Trump led away like that?

Guatemalan families bury loved ones killed near US-Mexico border

Guatemala’s president is calling for justice after 19 charred bodies were found near US-Mexico border in January.

I believe in a secure border and legal immigration as possible. These poor people are refugees from hurricanes , violence and extreme poverty. The UN should be setting up refugee camps in their countries to care for and protect them. There has to be a more humane way to help these people.

Amazing.

It takes a rudimentary understanding of cartels and human nature to imagine the horrors that individuals have faced at the southern border for decades.  It really takes 19 bodies in 2021 to see the tragedy?  This is a drop in the bucket.

The UN sees these people as disposable.  The US government over the past 5 decades sees the suffering as irrelevant.  A large segment of the American population sent a loud and clear message about the relative worth of the victims by sending Biden—a guffawing douche in his twilight years who enriched himself all along the way—-to the White House.

But sure, hand wringing helps too.

Does the truth anger you?

Tucker Trump doesn’t share the truth - - just listen to the freaks defend the anti protesting / driver immunity bills.

You know what’s amazing Tibs? These idiots freak out if there is any infringement on the second Amendment - but they have zero hesitation or regard to impose on the first amendment.

As always - shitt like this always blows up in their faces.
