Biden's Cabinet/Leadership

Recommended Posts

Only significant name so far is Ron Klain, well known to Biden as his Chief of Staff as VP.

Who is Ron Klain?

He served as chief counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee from 1989-92 when Mr Biden was chairman. He was also an adviser and speechwriter on Mr Biden's unsuccessful 1988 and 2008 White House campaigns.

Mr Klain served as chief of staff to Mr Biden from 2009 to 2011, the first few years of Mr Biden's tenure as vice-president in the Obama White House.

He later served as President Obama's "Ebola czar" during a minor outbreak of the deadly disease in 2014.

More to come but his leadership team needed a placeholder.

Kind of strange to say, but those elections in Georgia might very well shape who is in (can get confirmed) to his cabinet.

It'd be good if the Rs retain control of the Senate. It will force the parties to work together or expose those who won't.

Would not surprise me if Biden would almost welcome an R senate. The divisions in Democratic ranks would probably not get so exposed. If Dems win, look out! Big fight for what they spend their political capital on.

But I could see a situation where R's just refuse to work on anything Biden wants, No confirming cabinet members, not judges approved,, no funding government. Just trying to burn the country down.

The new Mitch McConnel rule will be the American people had their voice heard. We understand no President whose name starts with J can have a judge appointed.

Kind of like the democratic congress the last two years.

How often would they work with the president?

Besides shampeachment.

Oh, Nancy and Chuck went up to the WH quit often at first. Trump's govenrment shut down kind of put a damper on that. His demand to spend money on a stupid, worthless wall didn't help.

Will you be mad if GOP senators work with Biden?

If he is legally elected, which is in serious doubt, then no, I hope they would work together. If he stole the election, which makes the most sense after the red wave in congress and senate, then no, I hope they would not.

What you hear...when you don't care to listen.

So anyone you disagree with is lowered to inbred goober status, not worth listening to.  Not a bigoted take at all. The tolerant left shows its true self again.

Democrats have such a great history of bipartisanship. Especially the democratic congress the last four years,

Huh? Do you know the definition of Congress? Do you know the definition of control? Do you know numbers, like if someone asked you is 5 bigger than 10, would you know the answer?

Yes, Democrats are the party of science and have a greater lean when it comes to college education but come on man’n

That's ridiculous. We already tried this experiment in 2014. Republicans did nothing but obstruct and tear down for the last 6 years and no one held them accountable for it this year. The worst of them coasted to reelection the last two years. I would much rather force all of the republicans out and then expose who in  the Democratic party is actually a Republican with a blue tie.

A balance between center-right and alt-right is not what this country needs. All want handouts for the top 0.1% and half of them want open civil war on the rest.

Thankfully the Dems worked closely with the Republicans in the last 4 years and paved the way to bipartisanship, putting America before party.

In support of literal destruction of the environment, historically unqualified appointments, an economic and national health nightmare, fitting as many kids in cages as possible, forced hysterectomies of asylum seekers, and violence and kidnapping against civil rights protestors?

Pray tell, how exactly should they have been working with this? They did the only thing they could/should have done, which is stall.

To the extent there's truth in some of what you said and not just overblown histrionics, and to the extent that what you listed is part of Congress's job, you find common ground. That's what they needed to do, 100%.

You had a Republican PArty that wanted to do something on health care. You had a D party that wanted that too. Progress: 0%. Failure by both parties.

They absolutely did not, in either case. The only goal, and thus only achievement of the republican party is the destruction of things built by Democrats. As someone that's not a Democrat, and did not vote for Obama, it was insane to watch it all take place. They took credit for his administration's achievements when they wanted to and dismantled what they didn't.

There's absolutely no need for the republicans to do anything on healthcare as, again, they have no interest in improving it - only in making it abject worse.

In my lifetime, the Republican party has not made anything better for the working/middle class and they've never even proposed a policy that would actually do so. The best they've been able to muster is a $1200 one time tax credit in exchange for trillions of dollars in tax reduction for their corporate criminal friends. At the end of the day, all that does is screw the middle/working class.
