Ozark - Season 3

I though the same thing. They swept that bombing right under the rug. No evidence of it or mention of it at all.

Shows will gloss over stuff like that with vague references to splits, etc. but no physical damage at the office or reference to it was odd.  I see it as a small flaw because the season was so good.

The guy who played Ben was really good at the end.

Quick question for those who finished season 2 and at least started 3....

Did the show address at all the fact that the Byrde's office was fire bombed by Frank and the KC mob the end of season 2?

Maybe I am mis-remembering how that went down in season 2 but it seemed kind of odd to me that season 3 just starts with them working with Frank and the KC mob without any mention of how things had unfolded in season 2. I feel like there is some resolution/negotiation piece missing that would have connected the dots better between the two seasons.

Thoughts?

The issue was that Frank wanted the casino to be unionized. Essentially, he didn't want Marty moving on with the cartel business without having a hand in the profits, so blowing up the office was a threat.

I assume this was resolved by keeping Frank (and the schmuck Frank Jr.) involved, which we saw play out in season 3.

Right, Frank wanted the work done for the land piece of the casino to be union workers but Marty had to agree to use non union after promising the union work to Frank to close the deal with the gaming commission IIRC.

Frank found out and firebombed the office as payback on that.

The season starts with the casino up and running and their offices repaired with some deal already cut with Frank and the mob so we can assume they worked it out in some way.

Just thought it odd that they didn't mention it at all even if just as a passing comment or something between characters. I was thinking maybe I missed something since that was a big piece of the finale but based on some comments in the thread I guess it was glossed over by their writers.

Still an excellent season though like others have stated.

I bet season 4 will gloss over some stuff, too. All of a sudden, Wendy will have a law degree. 😄

Actually, Charlotte or Jonah should get a law degree to complete the family business...

i thought it was strange they didn't make a move on frank jr. they are smart enough to know they need to protect their girl.

They saw it as their way out from the mob.

Season 4 was great.  Excellent writing and a lot of good acting performances.  Bateman and Linney are particularly awesome.

But man the actor that plays Navarro is not good.  I watch shows like Narcos or Better Saul where they Cartel heads are scary.  This guy looks like a goof.  Not intense.  Not scary.  Worst part of the show IMO

You’re trippin.   Navarro is a badass.

Just wrapped it up.   Would have preferred if Jonah did the deed but I guess he’s gonna get pretty dark on Wendy next season.

What a comeback for Darlene.    Her meeting with Frank Cosgrove Sr was badass.

Jonah's storyline could get very dark, like he becomes a serial killer, and it would be believable. His formative teenage years have been kinda messed up.

Also, they kept their options open with Ben. Kinda lazy tactic, but they have to operate season to season not knowing if they'll be picked up again.

you have to be kidding me.  Navarro is a clown.  Not intense.  Not scary.  I only wish they casted the guy who played the hitman as Navarro.

The dude with the curly hair a good.  He can’t be intense.  Just not good acting/casting

One could surmise that the real life El Chapo is neither scary or intense, but reality would prove otherwise.

I just finished and am wondering what Helen's plans were with drawing up the papers so Marty and Wendy could take the deal?

My thought was that she was going to put that in front of Navarro as evidence that they need to be gone and not ever make it back to the US.

That was one of my thoughts as well but they would have had to sign it first.

Unless she forged it? They didn’t really delve into it. Maybe it’s something that gets explained in season 4?

Yeah it was sprung on us in the final minutes.

Actually I think it's what I initially thought: she trying to get them out without having to have them killed.  Thinking that Navarro was going to lose the war.  And that's why what happened, happened.

I loved/love "Breaking Bad," "Sons of Anarchy," "Better Call Saul," "Boardwalk Empire," and the 1st 5-6 seasons of "Walking Dead."

I don't like "Billions" or the last few seasons of "Walking Dead."

With that limited information, would anyone be able to tell me if I'd like "Ozark" and if it's worth getting into?

How the ***** is Marty And his family still alive?😂

Because Marty is the smartest one of them all.  And I'm expecting him to become the drug kingpin by the end of it.
