Prevacid Side Effects

Prevacid is available in generic form. Side effects of Prevacid include headachenauseadiarrhea, stomach pain, or constipation. Contact your doctor if you experience serious side effects of Prevacid including:

The dose of Prevacid depends on the condition being treated. Lansoprazole capsules should be taken before meals for maximum effect. Capsules should be swallowed whole and should not be crushed, split or chewed. Prevacid may interact with sucralfate, ampicillin, atazanavir, digoxin, iron, ketoconazole, methotrexate, theophylline, blood thinners, or diuretics (water pills). Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment with Prevacid. Prevacid is not expected to be harmful to a fetus. It is unknown if Prevacid passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding

Our Prevacid Side Effects Drug Center provides a comprehensive view of available drug information on the potential side effects when taking this medication.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
  • new or unusual pain in your wrist, back, hip, or thigh;
  • a seizure (convulsions);
  • kidney problems--little or no urination, blood in your urine, swelling, rapid weight gain;
  • low magnesium--dizziness, fast or irregular heart rate, tremors (shaking) or jerking muscle movements, feeling jittery, muscle cramps, muscle spasms in your hands and feet, cough or choking feeling; or
  • new or worsening symptoms of lupus--joint pain, and a skin rash on your cheeks or arms that worsens in sunlight.

Taking lansoprazole long-term may cause you to develop stomach growths called fundic gland polyps. Talk with your doctor about this risk.

If you use lansoprazole for longer than 3 years, you could develop a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Talk to your doctor about how to manage this condition if you develop it.

Common side effects may include:

  • nausea, stomach pain;
  • diarrhea, constipation; or
  • headache.

Tell your doctor if you use methotrexate.

Many drugs can affect lansoprazole, and some drugs should not be used at the same time. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.  Not all possible interactions are listed here. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any medicine you start or stop using

You forgot to mention that you should not take it if you are allergic to it. -)

Lots of work to prove my point.  Nobody here said the drug should be prescribed.  Carry on.

Why, it's the latest rage! The CCP demands that Prevacid be given to everyone - but some here say you can't give any drug to anyone without first having it undergo stringent Clinical Trials - to prove its efficacy for this new indication.

Not trying to be a wiseguy but is this an actual stat or your opinion?

Sugar Nipples ordered additional antibody testing in NYS, and read the results today. 24.9% of people in NYC tested positive for the antibodies. It is actually lower than I thought.

Fake news.  There was nothing demented about my question.

Every time I think I have the most annoying posters on ignore, another pops up like you can't get enough usernames amongst yourselves to genuinely believe you contribute anything to this board other than the most embarrassing, childish tripe the left could ever devise.

My ignore list hasn't been this long since the nigh everyone found out Hillary lost to the candied yam.

That’s not what Gary calls it.  I’m curious to see if he busts out his racist term for the disease.

What - Lyme Disease? Spanish Flu? Noro Virus? West Nile Encephalitis? The Black Plague?

Please step up and don’t give a niggardly answer.
