Someone asked if anyone has died because of a lack of PPE. Thousands have died in total - to assume all of those people would be dead if hospitals had adequate amounts of PPE in the beginning of March is ignorant. The disease spread from patients to healthcare providers partly because hospitals were not prepared.

Why are you using two different names at the same time?

I guess it's farewell Gary Busey, we barely knew thee...

I was inspired by Trump's mutiny Tweet

I'm guessing it's a reference to Gary Busey's new screen name.

It's in Warren Zevon's song named "Lawyers, Guns, and Money".

Trump was crying it was a hoax, nuff said.

His first reaction was the honest one. Anyone with any discernment at all realizes this. Unfortunately, the narrative is so overwhelming he is forced to play his part in this B movie. Once again, the media and government bureaucracies the enemy of the country.

I wonder about the spin of the new articles.  Remember eons ago (last week) when Peter Navarro was hailed for his prescient "warning" to shut down the economy?   Well, here's the Revered Peter, courtesy of the paper of "record."

I don't know that he ever said to shut down the economy, but he did warn the virus could kill 100s of 1000s.  As you know, being aggressive early with testing, isolation, and contact tracing is how some countries were able to prevent the calamity.

You're probably aware that there are a few things that bosses hate more than alarmist memos that don't offer a solution to the alarm.    Unless of course, the memo was written specifically to provide the downside scenario, which we discussed before.

Ok, if you are talking about the messaging from the top down.  Then I agree with you.  That was Trump's biggest mistake, how he downplayed it.

But if you are referring to the substance, then I don't see how anyone else could have altered the response from what the CDC, Fauci, Medical Experts or the NIH.

As I've said all along, his messaging/focus was downplaying it because he was worried about  the impact on his economy, which is what he was focusing reelection on.

We can argue about some of the substantive things that could've changed the outcome, but I wouldn't put the blame on Trump for any, Bolton maybe, because without that pandemic czar on the NSA, you end up with competing bureaucracies, like FDA/CDC, but that's MMQBing at this point...
