John F*ing Brown! Are any of these other guys a clear upgrade at WR1?

There were two that were on target yesterday which he got out-positioned on.

Plus, it wouldnt be so far over his head if he were taller ??

I'm good with what he is...nobody in KC is complaining about Tyreek Hill being too short

He's had a terrific year. The only WRs that interest me in 2020 free agency are:

AJ Green (age 32) and Emmanuel Sanders (33): Because of age and in Green's case injury, could sign to 1-2 year deal and draft a WR in 1st round, either of these guys end up being a short-term solution.

Amari Cooper (26) and Robbie Anderson (27): In their primes age-wise, would cost a lot and be a long term commitment. I'm lukewarm on Anderson and Cooper is probably a low probability but I would be good with them breaking the bank for him. Cooper-Brown-Beasley in 2 WR sets would be awesome, then having Singletary out of backfield and hopefully development of Knox at TE then you really have weapons.

But if they got Green for 2 years and hit on a WR in the 1st round that could work too.

Devante Parker wouldn't be too bad either, maybe not a true #1 but Parker and Brown as 1B and 1A could be pretty good.

My Way to early wants for UFA at the position (first I would rather Draft the No1 WR but).....

Amari Cooper

I guess I could be ok with Green as well (AS long as we Draft that future No 1 WR)

Not to sound like a self-loathing Buffalonian, but I dont think there is any chance Cooper chooses to sign with the Bills.

He saw the difference being with the right organization makes when he went from the Raiders to the Cowboys. Now, *I* dont think the Bills are any where near as dysfunctional as the Raiders, but I dont expect players to know that.

I believe Cooper thinks he's a "big time" player and needs to be on a "big time" franchise.

He will play where he gets paid the most.  So if the Bills come with a 19M AVV contract he will be a Bill (which is why I would rather draft my Stud No1 and get the 5 years of cheap contract.  Buying a No1 is expensive

I dont doubt he can be bought. Just that the premium it will cost to get him to Buffalo probably isnt worth it in the long run. Would love to have him tho, and agree with your plan.

Cooper might not even be the best WR on his own team.

I mean even look at AJ Green, he is going to cost 17M on his own for a 31 year old WR with big injury History.  I would rather use the Money in UFA to still address the OL, maybe address RB, a CB2 and some defense.  go into the Draft for that Stud WR (they are there)

I like Gallup as well.  But that is what I am trying to get to.

Get me a Stud WR to put on otherside of Brown.  Now you have two top end outside WRs and a Top end Slot in Beasley.

If Knox continues to progress you could have that top end TE as well.

We have heard a bunch of names for Bills' WR1 even after Brown was signed. Here are the receiving stats through Week 11. Are any of the other guys a clear upgrade over JFB aka "Smoke"?

edit: He is not the 4th in receiving yards. He is 8th. The other 4 in the top 8 were not really talked about on the Bills Boards as possible Bills : Michael Evans, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Amari Cooper

Cooper could easily be FA at the end of this season.  I would love to add him

And with this I would love to put

Thomas

Evans

Cooper

Jones

Diggs

On the other side of Brown.

Add in Hopkins (not on the list)

I think the draft this year provides us with some options for a bigger, talented WR to go opposite of Smoke in 2020.

CeeDee Lamb / Oklhoma / 6'2" 190lbs - Very athletic, has good speed, and high points the ball well

Chase Claypool / Notre Dame / 6'5" 228lbs - I don't know if he'll run a sub 4.4 40-yd time(probably closer to 4.45-4.5), but he is built just like Metcalf, can run, runs a pretty legit route tree, has excellent body control, and gets those 50/50 balls almost every time.

Tee Higgins / Clemson / 6'4" 200lbs - All you have to do is watch the tape.

Michael Pittman Jr. / USC / 6'4" 215lbs - Another big WR who can do it all.

Tyler Johnson / Minnesota / 6'2" 200lbs - Is playing himself into the Day1/Day 2 discussion.

Tamorrion Terry / Florida St. / 6'4" 205lbs - Another big WR who can run and uses his size well.

I could keep going, but these are the guys I could think of off top. I like Jeudy too, but for some reason I am more skeptical of him overall. I really like Claypool and Pittman though, whom I believe are 2nd day guys at this point.

I checked out drafttek this morning, and found that NONE of the top WR prospects are under 6' this year.

Add Shenault to your list as well.
