I strongly disagree, but I don’t care quite enough to do a deep-dive argument about it. People said the same about Joe Torre, and they were wrong because they overestimated tactical acumen over people management skills. Tons of NFL people think Gase is a truly brilliant offensive mind, bit he’s a bad manager of humans.

Why is this? I will never understand. His offense last year ranked even worse than the Bills (31). Now he has a top 3 pick at QB, leveon bell, a bunch of good WRs, a rebuilt OL and ... a brilliant offensive mind might squeeze a bit more out of the “turnip”. He also admittedly has nothing to do with the defense so can concentrate completely on the offense!

Quote

Offense

The defense handed the offense the ball three times in the first half off turnovers and the Jets failed to score each time. They had 11 possessions in the game and only one ended with a score. Adam Gase’s debut was a dud. QB Sam Darnold (28 of 41, 175 yards, 1 TD) was under constant pressure, getting sacked four times. The offensive line had no answers for Buffalo’s blitzes. WR Jamison Crowder (14 catches, 99 yards) and RB Le’Veon Bell (17 rushes, 60 yards, 6 catches, 32 yards, 1 TD) were the only bright spots.
Grade: F

Coaching

The offense had no flow after a summer of talking about how creative and explosive it could be and Gase had no solutions.

I say it on here all the time. Give me good leaders over innovative scheme guys. If you can find someone who is both you have hit the jackpot.

Not only do the Browns have the worst uniforms ever the paint in the Endzone is just as bad.

I really wanted baker Mayfield but he really comes off as a dick.

Josh Allen all day !!!

I felt the same way about him.  Makes you wonder if the Bills, in their evaluations, saw that and didn't see him as a fit for the team...albeit they didn't have the opportunity to draft him anyway.

probably, i heard we didn't even have him on our board so there was definitely something they didn't like.

Bengals got screwed, Dalton DID NOT fumble the ball

That guy Al Riveron (or whatever his name is) in NY HQ is truly amazing. How can someone with the benefit of sober second thought, multiple angles and all the time to render his decision get it wrong no less than 100% of the time?

Reading Edelmans "America's Worst Nightmare Tour" stuff makes me think how much fun it must be to get over on everyone time and time again.

They gave up on being loved like Peytons teams years ago and embraced the image of heartbreakers and soul crushers.

Every good show needs a villian and they are the ultimate villian for most NFL fans

By staying together they are giving the young guys a chance to add wins over them to their resumes, which is important to the future of the game.

No yeah buts on Allen and Mahomes 10 years from now if they get some Ws over the evil empire!

Agreed! Starting to look like we may have that here.

If the one leak we have ever seen is to be believed, they had Baker 3rd behind Allen and Darnold. Extremely plausible they would have taken Allen over Baker if they had the chance.

Makes you wonder if there isn't some sort of favoritism or bias going on.
