We are headed to NZ next winter and tipping is always over the world. Some places expect it, some places are insulted, some areas have it built in, etc. It is good to know it is not expected or required in NZ. To each their own, but I would rather pay a more reasonable $5 per beer and have the option of paying the extra $1-3 based on the service received rather than having it built in.
