Has fan behavior been better at games this year?

I know it’s only a small percent of fans that engage in idiotic behavior but usually by this time of year some video has gone viral of someone lighting themselves on fire, someone drunk falling off the railing, etc...

Perhaps breaking the drought ended it to a degree?

Wasn't there a sex toy episode this year (and subsequent arrest), and a fan punched the Jags RB in the head?

Yeah, but the OP is talking about "idiotic behavior" not normal, day-to-day behavior.

The team did put in that policy saying if you did jump through a table and were caught you were booted so there is that.

My belief is this is the 4th year now of Buffalo shenanigans in the parking lot and it's gotten routine. After a while the excitement wears off nationally (thank god) and the video submissions seem to have decreased.

I will say that this year being such a poor season W/L wise certainly hurt the amount of people going and attention given. The last time the Bills were eliminated this fast from the playoffs (which truthfully felt like it mid season) was 2013. Otherwise the Bills have had solid playoff odds through November before falling apart (minus last year).

The one thing I have noticed (and this is my 46th season as a season ticket holder) is there are far less fights in the stands in the past few years.  A common occurrance used to be seeing the long line of bright yellow coats descending down either side of an aisle to break up an altercation, but I honestly can't remember the last time I saw that.  Perhaps its the gameday fan hotline for reporting an altercation that nips shouting matches in the bud before they become full-blown blowups? Not sure.  But it just doesn't happen much anymore.

I have noticed the same thing. Its nice to not deal with it.

I do love these threads..cause I always like to comment in them.

1) I think the #BillsMafia has actually created a better atmosphere at the games all around.. I think a great majority of Bills fans, me included, want to be seen as having fun...and while the football is important, the game is about the experience and why ruin it by being a tool. I am not saying this quite right..but seems more people want all NFL fans to view coming to a game in Buffalo as a fun event, kinda how Green Bay is viewed.

Just from personal experience, I have way more friends the last couple of years saying they want to come to a Bills game...just because of the positive impression they have based on the increased social media awareness. And most of my friends are mid-fifties and up.

2) Easier to get beer last 4 years..selling in the can vs only drafts, selling the end of the 3rd..counter-intuitive I know, but that has really helped decrease the number of fights in the stands

Now I have the argument to the Fan Advisory Board that if some is good, more is better..so we can even curb fighting more by selling to the end of the game! But they aint buying that one!

I was at the Chargers game week 2.  Didn’t see anyone jumping through tables but there was plenty of drinking, drinking games and  shotgunning beer in the parking lots.

I also did see two fights in the stands before and during the 3Q.  To me it seems about the same though I would agree less video on Bills Mafia antics
