OT - Where to eat in Vegas

Recommended Posts

I'm going to Vegas this week and would like to know some reasonably priced places to eat. Good deals are welcome also. Thanks

And Pete, I will be checking out the Alladin, looking for that girl who can jump thought a Basketball hoop.

The best restaurant in Vegas is Piero's. But you want something reasonably priced, and a couple won't get out of there for under $100 unless you don't drink alcohol.

If you're going to splurge one night, Piero's is the place. It's not glamour Vegas. It's old school Vegas. Rat Pack hangout. Well worth it...especially the Osso Bucco.

Trust me theres no shortage of good dining here.

On the strip:

Wanna great steak or maybe some 'chops? Smith & Wollensky next to MGM Grand.

Great Chinese? PF Changs at Alladin.

Buffet? Tons. Check out Bellagio (best resteraunts in the city) or Mirage.

Italian? Too bad. For a mob town the sauces just dont rate.

5-star? Picasso at Bellagio

off-strip:

BBQ? Memphis BBQ on Warm Springs road (take a cab)

Steaks done to perfection? Ruth Chris steak house on Paradise.

Go to lasvegas.com for more. Have a great time and remember--

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. :w00t:

Best fast food in Vegas is Fatburger's on the strip near MGM Grand.

Best Buffet is the World Buffet at The Rio. You can eat here then hit the VooDoo lounge 52 stories up that has an outside terrace. Great view from up here, and the only way up there is an elevator that you board inside the Hotel, but it actually takes you up on the outside of the building. Awesome if you are not ascared of heights.

PS, check Excalibur and see if you can find a bunch of my money. Thanks. :D

Where in Vegas is Pieros? The wife and I plan to go in July (our first vacation ever away from the kids) and I would like to check it out.

Reasonably priced and good value dining in Vegas literally means different things to different people (ie Smith and Wollensky to me is overpriced, but I do not live in Chicago or NYC so the price is relative to Indy and, more currently, Milwaukee for me). Having said that, the Luxor Steakhouse is a splurge restaurant I would recommend highly.

I echo the others that the Rio buffet is the epitome of a good value and reasonably priced....get there early (20-40 minute wait sometimes) but it is worth the time and money. No question.

Also, some of the older casinos still have pretty stellar steakhouses (Binion's) that match well with the strip but a fraction of the cost.

A great place for breakfast is the Grand Lux Cafe in The Venetian.

A great place for dinner is the Palm Restaurant at Caesar's Palace. Although technically it's in the Forum shopping center.

If you go to any shows while you are there, I highly recommend seeing one of the Cirque du Soleil shows they have. There are 4 of them right now: "Mystere" at Treasure Island, "KA" at MGM Grand, "O" at Bellagio, & "Zumanity" at New York New York.

"O" is the most difficult one to get tickets too, but it is an amazing show. But you can not miss with either of these. "Zumanity" is for adults only.

One of the best (and cheapest) places for solid, American food -

No buffet though - who needs it ?

The buffet at the Rio is UNBELIEVEABLE.  It's the best selection I've ever seen on a buffet.  My favorite eating joint in Vegas by far.

Yes it is I couldn't believe it when I went there. I still talk about that place to this day, UNREAL!

There is also a great place in the Bellagia called Shintaro's. Awesome!

If you're already at the Excalibur, walk up Tropicana and cross the interstate to the In'N'Out Burger. Under $6 for a double-double burger, fries and shake. It's a tasty burger, and shut the f--- up Donnie.

If you're on the other end of the strip, they have a $1.49 3/4 pound hot dog at Westward Ho, if you don't mind chewing on something that looks like one of Ron Jeremy's appendages. They also have a semi-alcoholic 27 oz margarita for 99 cents that'll get you loaded and sick.

My favorite on the Strip was the Boardwalk. $1 pina coladas and $3 blackjack. I pulled bucks and booze outa that place.

There's a sushi place, Todai, in the Aladdin mall, that isn't too bad for lunch. Probably $30 for 2 for lunch, but there is some tasty raw fish there.

Aladdin's buffet is about the same for lunch, but there's some real tasty stuff there... I lingered around the Middle East station sucking up olives and hummus and shishkebab, but there were plenty more stations with tasty vittles. Real good buffet.

Barbary Coast, Gold Coast, and Orleans have a special mastercard deal until May 31 for half price rooms if you reserve with a mastercard. Orleans is great after midnight if you like bowling... $1 games and they have 72 lanes and tons of hotties. And then you go to the cafe, at 2am and drunk off your a-- and get a lovely steak'n'eggs for $2.99. Good stuff.

HAHA! She will be there! Truly one of the most amazing street performances I hqve seen. Where to eat:

Pink Taco at the Hard Rock- one of the best Mexican restauraunts I have ever been and great margaritas

Nofu-sushi-at the hard rock-one of the iron chefs owns this place

Emerils- all great

Commanders Palace-one of the best restauraunts in America

Aladdin buffet is good

Bellqio and Rio have great buffets

you must try a crepe at Paris

I have more suggestions but French keyboards suck. Good luck in Vegas from Pete in Paris

Pretty Cheap and Pretty Terrible - Bourbon Street

I thought the Bellagio buffet was way overrated.

Cheapovegas as suggested is a good resource. I've found that eating cheap in Vegas is tough. Take advantage of any coupons or discounts you can find. Some of the smaller buffets are cheaper and good compared to the "name" buffets. We were very happy with the buffet at the Flamingo and it was 5 or 6 bucks cheaper than the Rio, plus it is on the strip. Also a good trick is to hit the lunch buffett at the end so it is more like dinner, but you get the lower price.
