  1. A little late on this but I thought the live coverage was awesome. You get to really see what happens, as opposed to only watching a few critical hands. I understand it may not always be thrilling television but it gave you a much better feeling for the game. Much more analysis than humor. I hope it is just the start. As for the original question, I believe the start playing hand for a hand a few players from the money. I don't know what the exact number this year was but I'm guessing somewhere between 5 and 10 players from the money. Bubble play is very interesting to watch, shorts stacks trying to survive and big stacks trying to punish. And for the Norman Chad fans, the traditional coverage will be back as well. One question I did have, was what else does ESPN have to show at this time? I mean it is ESPN2 in the middle of the summer, no college sports, nothing much else going on. I thought it was good for all.
  2. Supposedly they have a buyer coming in that will help bail out US players but I wouldn't hold your breath....
  3. so is this just part of the documentary? and why is it "sticking" it to stanford. did i miss something?
  4. True but he's rumored to have $5 million bet that he will win a bracelet, plus he's done very well in the main event and this means he's skipping 56 other events as well. I just wish stupid congress would figure this out (please don't move to PPP)
  5. Basically the horse racing industry is bigger and more powerful than poker industry...
  6. I think his ulterior motive is not being harassed by everyone at the WSOP. There was already an incident with John Juanda.
  7. I know there are some poker players on here, thought you guys may find this interesting. I don't know if most have been following the events since online poker's "Black Friday" but there has been plenty of drama, to me this is the most significant news in a while: Phil Ivey WSOP Boycott
  8. For those with DTV (and outside of Buffalo) do you know which channel the game will be on? I know sometimes for me the Center Ice feed is blacked out and I have to watch on the MSG-NYa feed. Any idea about tonight? I won't be home tonight for the start of the game and want to make sure I set the DVR correctly.
  9. Care to share the premise for the uninformed or are you just going to tell me to f off and go to google? If that's the case I'll pass. I'm too lazy.
  10. Would prefer the color scheme of the 90s, white helmets are fine but hate the blue is terrible right now..
  11. Basically that's the way it seems, I think the quote I read from the prosecutor was like "She was bringing him laundry and he brought her two hunting knives." Doesn't really sound like self defense to me.
  12. Did you guys read the story? It isn't like everyone is paying $900 to park. There are some people with some extra coin who want a good parking spot and there happens to be a guy who has some to sell. We live in a free market economy, props to this guy for making what he can.
  13. Also found the Skills Competition a little boring, just seemed like after the opening, production value was low and there wasn't much in the way of entertainment to keep people interested. Met Barnaby as well, he may have been hand in hand with one of the blondes from ESPN (not Erin Andrews), which was news to me.
  14. Heading to the skills competition Saturday night sold our tickets to the All Star game to pay for the skills competition, not a bad deal.
  15. actually good story from the Mirage, I asked them to put a Sabres game on once and the woman asked me if I was from Buffalo, and I said yes, she said she was too and proceeded to give me a fistful of drink tickets every bet I made the rest of the weekend.
